College Football Predictions Week 5

Daddy's Hangout NCAA Football Predictions logo

Welcome to another exciting weekend of college football and we’re already in Week 5, which is crazy because it seems like it started not too long ago. Last week my record was 3-1, which boosted my record up to 13-7 and in the process bumping my winning percentage from 62.5% to 65%. Hopefully, I can improve and get to the 70% winning percentage I’m trying to reach and this week I’ll be predicting five games. Let’s Get Started!!!

Notre Dame Fighting Irish logoClemson Tigers Paw logoThis is the big game of the week in a battle of a couple of undefeated teams as the 6th ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish visit the 12th ranked Clemson Tigers. The Fighting Irish have started the season looking really good, despite losing their starting QB, but traveling to Clemson is no easy task. Can the Fighting Irish pull off another big win with the luck of the Irish? The Clemson Tigers play in one of the rowdiest stadiums you’ll find and on Saturday night, you know it will definitely be loud. Seeing the story on ESPN about Deshaun Watson was pretty touching seeing he’s from my hometown and use to hang out at the place he grew up. I’m cheering for the Tigers on Saturday night and think they’ll win a really close one.

Tigers Win 31-30

Alabama LogoGeorgia logoWe head down to SEC country as the 13th ranked Alabama Crimson Tide travel to face the 8th ranked Georgia Bulldogs. The Tide really haven’t looked like themselves this year, especially in their home loss against Ole Miss. Can the talented front four stop the Georgia running game or can Derrick Henry create problems for Georgia with his physical style of running? The Bulldogs have looked really good this year, plus we knew that Nick Chubb was going to be a beast. The play of Grayson Lambert for Georgia has been huge and he will need to play like he’s played the last couple of weeks to win. This is a tough one, but I think the Dawgs win!!

Bulldogs Win 30-21

Ole Miss Rebels logoFlorida Gators logoWe stay in SEC country for another top 25 match-up as the 3rd ranked Ole Miss Rebels visit the 25th ranked Florida Gators. The Rebels have looked like one of the best teams in the country, especially after beating the Tide in Alabama. Can the Rebels continue to dominate on both sides of the ball against this Gators team? The Florida Gators have reentered the top 25 after a long stint without even sniffing the rankings. They came from behind last week against Tennessee where they basically had lost the game, but found a way to fight back and win. Can they pull off a huge upset at home against the Rebels? I’m going with the Rebels!!!

Rebels Win 34-24

Mississippi State logoTexas A&M logoWe stay in SEC country with another top 25 match-up as the 21st ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs visit the 14th ranked Texas A&M Aggies. The Bulldogs are coming off a tough, hard fought win against the Auburn Tigers. The Bulldogs only loss came from the LSU Tigers during the second week of the season and they only loss by 2 points. Can the Bulldogs move the ball against the Aggies? The Aggies have emerged as one of the favorites in that dreaded SEC West with that tough defense and playing against Dak Prescott will be tough for them. This should be a pretty good game and I think the Aggies take care of business at home.

Aggies Win 35-21

West Virginia logoOklahoma Sooners LogoWe have yet another top 25 match-up, but this time we venture to the Big 12 conference as the 23rd ranked West Virginia Mountaineers visit the 15th ranked Oklahoma Sooners. The Mountaineers are off to a great start scoring more than 40 points a game. West Virginia hasn’t played a formidable opponent yet, but Skyler Howard had huge game last year against the Sooners. This could be a trap game for the Sooners, because they face their rival Texas next weekend and their defense hasn’t been playing like a normal Oklahoma defense plays. This will be another tough one, but I’m going with the Sooners at home.

Sooners Win 41-38

What did you think about the games I predicted? What is the game you’re for the most? What games would you choose differently? Next week I’ll start listing my top 5 and in the meantime, head to the comments section below and let me know what you think about my picks.
