NFL Predictions for Week 12

Daddy's Hangout NFL Predictions logo

Welcome to Week 12 of the NFL season and it’s hard to believe that we have a little over a month of the regular season to go. Last week my record was 4-0 and hopefully things can go that good for me in this final stretch as we head to the playoffs. My record jumps to 35-27, making my overall winning percentage jump from 53.5% to 56.5%. This week I’ll be predicting around seven games with three of them being the games being played on Thanksgiving. Let’s Get Started!!

Philadelphia Eagles logoDetroit Lions helmet logoThis is the first of three games being played on Thanksgiving as the Philadelphia Eagles travel to play the Detroit Lions. The Eagles are my favorite sports team and it seems like they have called it quits already, especially after their lopsided loss to the Bucs last week. The Eagles sit only one game behind the Giants for first place in the division and they play them in their season finale. The Detroit Lions have won two games in a row after losing seven of their first eight games of the season. The Lions have the type of offense the Eagles have trouble stopping and they should walk out with the win.

Lions Win 34-24

Dallas Cowboys Star LogoThis is the second game being played on Thanksgiving as the undefeated Carolina Panthers travel to face the Dallas Cowboys. What can you say about the Panthers that haven’t been said already? The last couple of weeks it seems like the Panthers offense have looked just as good as the defense. It’s crazy that the Panthers are only a one point favorite coming into this game. I’ll admit, I really hate the Cowboys, but I’m going to be honest, they were one of my picks to come out of the NFC before they were hit with injuries. With Romo back and the NFC East being weak, they could still win the division. I’m going with the Panther still!!

Panthers Win 26-24

Chicago Bears LogoGreen Bay Packers logoThis is the third and final game being played on Thanksgiving as the Chicago Bears visit the Green Bay Packers in a battle of longtime rivals. The Bears, despite having a 4-6 record haven’t looked bad losing 3 out of their last 5 games by a combined eight points. The defense, offense and more specifically, Jay Cutler have looked great. Can the Bears pull off the huge upset? The Packers finally broke their three game losing streak last week against the Vikings. Can they finally turn things around and still be contender in the NFC? With them having the Brett Favre ceremony, they should hot for this game? I’m rolling with the Pack!!

Packers Win 31-21

Tampa Bay Buccaneers logoIndianapolis Colts logoThis is a battle between a couple of 5-5 teams that’s hoping to make the playoffs as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers visit the Indianapolis Colts. The Bucs started the season looking like one of the worse teams, but now they’re looking pretty scary. Jameis Winston is looking like he did when he was at Florida State and has been one of the most efficient QBs in the league over the last month. The Colts are coming off impressive back-to-back wins over the Broncos and Falcons to maintain a share of the division lead with the Texans. Can the Colts stop the Bucs offense? This is a tough one, but I’m rolling with the Colts!

Colts Win 30-28

Minnesota Vikings logoAtlanta Falcons helmet logoThis is a battle between a couple of teams that would be in the playoffs if it started now as the Minnesota Vikings visit the Atlanta Falcons. The Vikings had their five game winning streak last week against the Green Bay Packers. The Vikings have basically flown under the radar most of the season, but they have a good enough team to make a serious run in the NFC. As far as the Atlanta Falcons, I don’t know what went wrong with them because they started the season 5-0 and have since dropped four of five games. This is a must win for the Falcons and I believe they’ll pull it off.

Falcons Win 27-26

New England Patriots logoDenver Broncos logoThis is the Sunday night game as the undefeated New England Patriots visit the Denver Broncos and this time there’s no Manning vs. Brady. It’s crazy, but the Patriots haven’t been their usual dominant self in the last three games. The Patriots may not be facing Peyton Manning, but they’re going to have a tough game against the Broncos and their defense. Last week marked the first career start of Brock Osweiler and it happened on his 25th birthday. If Osweiler can lead the Broncos to a win, this will solidify his future in Denver and boost the teams’ confidence going forward. I’m still with the Patriots!!

Patriots Win 25-23

Baltimore Ravens Black LogoCleveland Browns Helmet logoThis is the Monday night game between a couple of AFC North teams that’s at the bottom as the Baltimore Ravens visit the Cleveland Browns. This is the first game the Ravens will be without QB Joe Flacco as he suffered a torn ACL last week. The Ravens have been hit hard by the injury bug all season and I just can’t imagine them having much success the rest of the season. The Cleveland Browns have been dealing with their share of issues this week as it relates to Johnny Manziel and now he’s been demoted to 3rd string QB. Josh McCown is more than capable of leading the Browns to victory and he will.

Browns Win 31-17
