If you’ve followed me on any social media sites or even read a few of my posts, then you know that I work a full-time third shift job. This is something I’ve done for many years now and hopefully that’s about to change in the coming months. This is something I have done ever since my kids were little because it saves money on daycare, and I have always been the classroom dad they could count on to help out on field trips. My youngest daughter will be heading to middle school next year, and now she’s giving me her blessings to go to dayshift so I can be home at night. Throughout the years being on the night shift, I’ve either ate so much fast food, not eat at all or depend on the vending machine that I can feel the toll it’s starting to take over my body. As my mom has told me so many times, I need to start making better, healthier decisions because I’m no spring chicken anymore, and she’s right. Instead of taking junk to work, I went shopping for something that’s a healthy balance of protein, good carbs and vegetables. While in the freezer section of Walmart, I found the STOUFFER’S® FIT KITCHEN™ and the numerous meals, they have that’s exactly what I need. STOUFFER’S® Fit Kitchen products are delicious and satisfying meals that anyone can enjoy.
We decided to try a couple of different kinds to see how they tasted, and I loved they were high in protein, plus they looked delicious!! You can stay satisfied longer with NEW! STOUFFER’S® Fit Kitchen meals available in six varieties with each mouth-watering recipe is packed with 25 grams of protein or more that leaves you satisfied:
• Steak Fajita
• Cilantro Lime Chicken
• Rotisserie Seasoned Turkey
• Bourbon Steak
• Oven Roasted Chicken
• Monterey Chicken
This protein packed meals only take about 10 minutes to prepare, and they’re a balanced meal, but you can add whatever sides to go with it. Usually, I pair my STOUFFER’S® Fit Kitchen meals with a side salad to keep it simple, also I try not to eat too much at night. Seeing I’ve already had the Steak Fajita, this time I tried the Bourbon Steak, which comes with chipotle mashed sweet potatoes, seasoned broccoli and red peppers. As you can see below, not only the meal looks delicious, but it tastes great, and it contains 26 grams of protein. Usually I like to make a nice salad to go along with my Bourbon Steak meal.
Since the grilled chicken take about 20 minutes to cook, I usually throw it in the oven while I take my shower.
After I get out of the shower, I start putting together the salad since I normally have around 5 minutes before the chicken is done. After the chicken is done, I carve it up and add it on top of my salad, along with the shredded carrots and cheese.
After making the salad, it goes perfectly with my Bourbon Steak STOUFFER’S® Fit Kitchen meal. It gives me that healthy balance I need during the night and it prevents me from eating unhealthy junk.
Why not join me and starting 2016 off right by trying the STOUFFER’S® Fit Kitchen products, because they’re delicious and satisfying meals that anyone can enjoy. If you’re looking for some great meals ideas, visit the Flavorful Moments Pinterest Board to see what others are serving up.
