Monday Night Raw Review from Pittsburgh for 3/14/2016

Monday Night Raw Review from Pittsburgh

Welcome to another edition of Monday Night Raw with it taking place in Pittsburgh. Unfortunately, last week I didn’t get a chance to do a review because for some odd reason I didn’t record it. With WrestleMania being less than three weeks away, we’ll get to see how the WWE will sell us on the PPV, which I’m sold already because it’s WrestleMania. This past Saturday, the WWE had their WWE Network special, Roadblock which was pretty good. With so many rumors heading into this edition of Monday Night Raw, let’s see how things went.

New Day vs. League of Nations: This actually started out Monday Night Raw, which was surprising. The match wasn’t bad and in the end New Day picked up the win, but they paid for it because the League of Nations beat them down. This was done to make New Day full-fledged faces and they accomplished it with the beat down.

Dean Ambrose/Paul Heyman/Brock Lesnar Segment: Paul Heyman can sell anything and he has definitely sold me on this match. This segment was pretty well done and I have no complaints about it at all. With Ambrose bringing out the crowbar, it shows that he’s definitely on the crazy side and will do anything to try to beat Lesnar.

Triple H/Stephanie McMahon/Dolph Ziggler Segment: Stephanie came out and cut a promo before introducing Triple H. Triple H cut a promo ripping the fans before he was interrupted by Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler cut a promo on the Authority, and then Stephanie slapped him and was about to fire him but Triple H tried to get Ziggler to side with the Authority. Stephanie said he can have any match he wanted @ WrestleMania besides the WWE Championship match if he wins one match tonight and it was against Triple H.

Sami Zayn vs. The Miz: The Miz seems to be motivated lately, as far as the match, it wasn’t great but it served its purpose.

Triple H vs. Dolph Ziggler: The match started off pretty slow, but things really picked up and the fans were definitely into it. After this match, we saw the return of Roman Reigns who beat the hell out of Triple H throughout the building into the back.

Jacqueline Being Inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame: She was one of the toughest women to ever step foot in the ring.

Undertaker/Vince/Shane Segment: I expect something crazy will happen in the match between Shane and the Undertaker, but they really need to do something that’ll draw people into this match. Them getting physical on Monday Night Raw was a step in the right direction, but I feel there needs to be more.

Ryback vs. Sin Cara: Eh!!

Team B.A.D vs. Brie Bella & Alicia Fox: This match didn’t really do anything for me.

Usos vs. Social Outcasts: This was basically a squash match.

Chris Jericho vs. Neville: Unfortunate that Neville was hurt in the match and now it’s been reported he might have fractured his ankle. I wish Styles would’ve done more to Y2J since Jericho turned on him last week.

Overall Rating: 6.5/10- With less than three weeks away until WrestleMania, it just doesn’t feel like a WrestleMania card going into the event. Hell, there hasn’t been any official match between Jericho/Styles nor has there been anything announced about the IC championship. My expectations for WrestleMania are that it won’t have that appeal going into the event, but most of the matches will deliver. Below are my top 5 things that happened on this edition of Monday Night Raw:

1) New Day Being Full-Fledged Faces Now
2) Ambrose/Heyman/Lesnar Segment
3) Triple H vs. Dolph Ziggler
4) The Return of Roman Reigns
5) Jacqueline Being Inducted into the Hall of Fame

What did you think about this edition of Monday Night Raw? With less than three weeks away, are you excited about WrestleMania? If so, what match excites you the most?
