This means creating profiles on appropriate websites, creating videos, sending out free CDs, anything you can think of that will help to spread your name and get your music out there. It’ll likely cost you a lot of money with a minimal return, but as long as you work hard, it’ll be worth it in the long run.
Be Polite And Easy To Work With
Being polite and easy to work with is so important in the industry. If you’re difficult to work with and a bit of a diva, people aren’t going to want to book you again. Networking in the industry is important, and you can bet that they’ll all speak to each other. You’ll more than likely get discussed, so you really don’t want to make a bad impression. Whether you have an agent or not, you’re going to need to focus on music industry networking. The more contacts you make and the better reputation you build, the further you can expect to go.
Play Lots of Gigs
Get as many gigs booked up as you can. Music artists tour all around the world, sometimes doing hundreds of shows. It can be very tiring, but rewarding too. You need to make sure you can handle it. You’ll probably need to get small gigs booked up first. You never know, you might end up becoming the supporting act to somebody much bigger before moving on to your own big shows!
