Jay-Z Dropped His Blueprint Album 15 Years Ago

It’s crazy how time flies by with today being the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks that changed America forever. My condolences go out to the ones that lost their lives and the ones affected by such a terrible event. I remember that day like it was yesterday and at that time it just didn’t seem real to me. That very same day I remember picking up the Blueprint album from Jay-Z. The album had so much hype behind it because the rumored diss track towards Nas that was going to be on the album. After it dropped we found out the track was called The Takeover where he took shots at Nas and Mobb Deep also. This is an album that I actually did a review on about five years ago and below are a few of my favorite tracks off the album.

The Takeover

This is the track I mentioned above, which was an all-out diss record towards Mobb Deep and most notably, Nas. This track ignited a huge beef between Jay and Nas that produced some great tracks between the two. After Jigga released the track, Nas went on to release Ether, but the cool thing is that they eventually squashed their beef and released several tracks together.

Never Change

One of my favorite tracks from the album where Jay showed he could put out a deep track. The track is one of my favorite tracks of the album and from Jay-Z, period because this track is so smooth and he just killed it.

Song Cry

This track along with Never Changed, mentioned above is my two favorite tracks from the album and from Jay-Z. I’ll say that this is my favorite track from the album, which had everything from the production, flow, message and lyrics.

Girls, Girls, Girls

The title of the track says it all because it’s all about the ladies. Just like about every track on the album, the production and rhymes were flawless, plus Jay pretty much killed the entire album.

Like I mentioned on my album review from five years ago, I absolutely love this entire album with the exception of about a couple of tracks. Below is the track listing for the Blueprint album, which is tied with the Black Album as my favorite Jay-Z album? The Blueprint should be in your album collection and you can get it here.
