Welcome to the 4th week of the NFL season, hold up this is going too fast. Last week my record was 3-4, which means my overall record is 10-12. In the process, my winning percentage dipped from 46.7% to 45.5%, which is bad. My goal is to still reach the winning percentage of 70%, which seems like a longshot right now. The big news coming into this weekend has to be all the injuries throughout the league. This week I’ll only be predicting four games because there are not many marquee match-ups. Let’s get started and see how things turn out.
We start with the Thursday night game between two teams thought to be in the playoff mix. We have the Miami Dolphins visiting the Cincinnati Bengals with both teams in need of a victory. The Miami Dolphins barely escaped with a win last week at home against the Browns. Miami have a slew of injuries headed into this match-up and what could be a long night for the Dolphins. On the other hand, Cincinnati only got one win on this season also, but all three of their opponents made the playoffs last year. Can Andy Dalton have a good night game? Will the return of Vontaze Burfict helped their defense? I think it will and I’m going with the Bengals to win.
Cincinnati Win 34-21
This is a match-up between two NFC South teams as the Carolina Panthers visits the Atlanta Falcons. The Carolina Panthers have struggled mightily with losses against the Broncos and Vikings. The big question is, how banged up is Cam Newton? Despite the struggles on offense, the defense has still looked good despite losing Josh Norman. Can they stop the Falcons top ranked offense? The Atlanta Falcons are probably the most explosive offense in the league, but they have also faced some of the worse defenses. The Falcons beat the Panthers at home last year, can they repeat that feat? I’m going with the Falcons to win this game.
Atlanta Win 27-17
This is the Sunday night game between two of the better teams in the AFC as the Chiefs visit the Steelers. Kansas City is coming off a very impressive win over the Jets last week by forcing Ryan Fitzpatrick to throw 6 INTs. The Chiefs offense will need to show up against this Steelers team. Can the Chiefs go into Pittsburgh and come away with the win? Pittsburgh is coming off of getting embarrassed last week in Philadelphia. They are looking to rebound from that 31-point loss and on top of that, they’re getting LeVeon Bell back for this game. I think Pittsburgh will be looking to have a breakout game and will win this one.
Pittsburgh Win 30-21
We have the Monday Night game between a pair of teams that should make the playoffs. The New York Giants visit the Minnesota Vikings in what should be a really good game. The Giants are coming off a tough home loss against the Redskins. New York is hoping their high powered offense can go into Minnesota to pull off the win. The Minnesota Vikings have looked like the best defense through the first 3 weeks of the season. The last 2 weeks, the Vikings are responsible for shutting down Aaron Rodgers and Cam Newton. Can they continue that trend on Monday? I’m going with the Giants to pull off the upset.
New York Win 24-23
