Daddy’s Hangout NFL Predictions for Week 5

NFL

Welcome to the 5th week of the NFL season as it’s the first weekend of action for October. Last week I managed to come away with a 3-1 record. My record jumped up to 13-13, meaning my winning percentage went from 45.5% up to 50%. Once again, this is a step in the right direction because I still want to hit the 70% mark. The news coming into this weekend has to be the return of Tom Brady from his 4-game suspension. The other news will be the uncertainty of Cam Newton and Carson Palmer, who both are in the concussion protocol. This week I’ll be predicting seven games and hopefully I continue to go in the right direction. Let get this started!!

Arizona Cardinals logo NFLSan Francisco 49ers logoWe start with the Thursday night game between a pair of NFC West teams that’s 1-3. The Arizona Cardinals visit the San Francisco 49ers with the hopes of turning around their season. With Carson Palmer being ruled out, the Cardinals will start Drew Stanton. The bigger issue for the Cardinals has been their defense, can they step Thursday night? On the other hand, San Francisco hasn’t been playing much better either. After winning their opener, the 49ers have lost three games in a row to three really good teams. Can the 49ers pull off the upset at home on Thursday Night? I’m going with the Cardinals to somehow find a way to win this game.

Arizona Win 26-17

Atlanta Falcons NFL helmet logoDenver Broncos logo NFLThe top game of the week will be the Atlanta Falcons visiting the Denver Broncos. The Atlanta Falcons come into this game as the top ranked offense in the league and they’re hoping to continue that trend. Atlanta’s coming off an amazing performance last week against the Carolina Panthers. Matt Ryan passed for over 500 yards, while Julio Jones had 300 yards receiving. With the Denver Broncos, it’s been the same thing which has been a dominant performance by the defense. The offense has looked great, but Trevor Siemian injured his shoulder last week and his status is unclear. This should be a great game and I believe the Broncos will continue their winning ways.

Denver Win 23-21

Houston Texans Logo NFLMinnesota Vikings NFL logoThis match-up is a battle between two teams that should be playoffs teams at the end of the year. The Houston Texans visits the undefeated Minnesota Vikings in a huge battle this Sunday. The Texans only loss this season came at the hands of the Patriots, so they’re still looking for a huge win. What better way for the Texans to prove they’re a team to be reckoned with by beating the Vikings on the road. The Minnesota Vikings are the surprise team of the league with their great defense and offense that doesn’t turn the ball over. Can the Vikings continue their winning ways? I say they will beat Houston in another dominant defensive performance.

Minnesota Win 24-14

Cincinnati Bengals NFL helmet logoDallas Cowboys Star Logo NFLWe have a really good match-up in Dallas as the Cowboys host the Cincinnati Bengals. The Cowboys are being led by two rookies in Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott. This weekend will be their toughest match-up because the Bengals defense is really good. The Cowboys are hoping to continue their early season success at home against Cincinnati. Can the Cowboys take care of business at home? The Bengals will probably still be without TE Tyler Eiffert as he’s still battling an ankle injury that’s kept him out all year. Can A.J. Green get enough help to upset the Cowboys on the road? I’m going with the Bengals to win this game.

Cincinnati Win 24-23

WashingtonRedskins NFL logoBaltimore Ravens Black LogoWe have another match-up between two teams that look like playoff contenders. The Washington Redskins will be traveling to Baltimore to face the Ravens with the hopes of winning their 3rd game in a row. Washington started the season 0-2, but has since beat the Giants and Brown to even their record. Can the Redskins continue their winning ways a week before hosting the Eagles? The Ravens started the season 3-0, but lost to the Raiders last week in a nail-biter, can they rebound from that loss? This could be a shootout between Cousins and Flacco with the Ravens pulling out the win.

Baltimore Win 31-28

New York Giants Logo NFLGreen Bay Packers NFL logoWe have the Sunday night game as the New York Giants visit the Green Bay Packers. The Giants have lost their last two games after winning the first 2 games of the season. The talk of New York has been the attitude of Odell Beckham and him costing them games. The other issue has been the defense, whom they spent a lot of money to build it up and have given up a ton of points. The Green Bay Packers are coming off a bye week and they’re usually really good after their bye. Can the Packers offense get back on track against the Giants? I’m going with the Packers in a close game.

Green Bay Win 20-17

Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL logo NFLWe have the Monday night game between a pair of NFC South teams. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will travel to Carolina to face the Panthers. Tampa Bay has lost three games in a row after beating the Falcons in Atlanta in the opener. One of the issues with the Bucs is that Jameis Winston is second in the NFL in INTs and the defense hasn’t played well either. Can the Bucs pull off the upset on Monday night? The Carolina Panthers seem to be in trouble because they’re 1-3 and Cam Newton is in concussion protocol. With the Falcons in a 2-game lead, this is a must win for both teams. I’m going with the Panthers to win this game!!

Carolina Win 31-21
