Daddy’s Hangout Week 7 NFL Predictions

NFL

Welcome to the 7th week of the NFL season and it’s hard to believe we’re almost at the half way point. Once again, last week I went 3-4 and my overall record dipped to 19-21. My winning percentage went from 48.5% to 47.5% in the process. The big news in the NFL has to be the trend of injuries with Big Ben having knee surgery for a partial tear in his meniscus. Coming into this week, we have the Minnesota Vikings as the only undefeated team in the league. This week I’ll be predicting six games with the hopes of just finishing with a winning record. Let’s get started!!

Chicago Bears LogoGreen Bay Packers NFL logoWe start with the Thursday night game as the Chicago Bears visit the Green Bay Packers. The Bears are going nowhere pretty fast with their 1-5 record, but Brian Hoyer has played well at QB. It does seem like the defense is starting to play a little better, but will that be the case on the road against Aaron Rodgers. Can the Bears upset the Packers on the road with a long layoff before their Monday night game on Halloween? After the loss to Dallas at home, it seems things couldn’t get any worse, but they have. As many as seven Packers are ruled inactive for this game including Eddie Lacy. It seems like the ankle injury will keep him out for several weeks so they traded for Kniles Davis of the Chiefs to help them out. With all the injuries and questions surrounding Rodgers, can the Packers come away with the win? I’m going with Green Bay for the victory!!

Green Bay Win 30-20

LA Rams NFL LogoNew York Giants Logo NFLWe have a battle between a pair of 3-3 teams that face each other in London. The Los Angeles Rams face the New York Giants with one of the teams emerging with a winning record after this game. The Rams come into this game on a two game losing streak with the defense having troubling preventing big plays. Los Angeles will need to get Todd Gurley back on track if they have a chance on winning this game. On the other hand, New York just ended their 3-game losing streak last week against the Ravens. Odell Beckham Jr. finally exploded for the Giants offense and will need another big showing before their bye week. I think New York will take care of business and go into their bye week on a 2-game winning streak.

New York Win 26-17

Minnesota Vikings NFL logoPhiladelphia Eagles logo NFLWe have the Minnesota Vikings coming off their bye and traveling to Philadelphia to meet the Eagles. Minnesota remains the lone undefeated team in the NFL and they have done it mainly with their stout defense. Sam Bradford, who was traded from the Eagles is having a tremendous season and will definitely want to show the Eagles why he was their best choice at QB. With the Eagles, they have lost two games in a row after their bye week and now they’re dealing with injuries. After being the darling of the NFL the first three weeks, it seems like Carson Wentz has ran into a wall. For him, things won’t get any better against this Vikings defense and that’s why I’m going with the Vikings to win.

Minnesota Win 24-20

New England Patriots logoPittsburgh Steelers NFL logo NFLComing into the season this game was circled on my calendar because I thought they were the two best teams in the AFC. With the Pittsburgh Steelers welcoming the New England Patriots this week, it has lost some of its luster. With the injury to Big Ben, the Steelers will be the underdogs and deservedly so because Ben is one of the best QBs ever. Can they win with Landry Jones? The New England Patriots have been on a roll ever since the return of Tom Brady as it seems like he didn’t miss a beat. Despite the Steelers missing Big Ben, this is still Pittsburgh and this won’t be a cake walk for the Patriots. I’m still going with the Patriots to win a tough one!!

New England Win 27-17

Seattle Seahawks NFL logoArizona Cardinals logo NFLThis is the Sunday night game between a pair of NFC West rivals that’ll be fighting for the division title in the end. The Seattle Seahawks visits the Arizona Cardinals with the hopes of extending their division lead. Seattle is coming off a hard fought win last week at home against Atlanta in controversial fashion and they’ll have another tough match-up. Can the Seahawks steal one on the road against the rival Cardinals? Arizona is on a 2-game winning streak after dropping three of their first four games. If they’re going to contend for the division and have playoffs hopes, they must win this game. I think they will pull off a tough, hard-fought win over the Seahawks.

Arizona Win 19-17

Houston Texans Logo NFLDenver Broncos logo NFLFor the Monday night game we have Brock Osweiler returning to Denver for the first time since leaving via free agency. The Houston Texans visits the Denver Broncos in what should be a really good game. Houston is coming off an improbable win over the Colts last week when they scored a pair of touchdowns with less than 3 minutes remaining. Can they continue that trend on the road against the defending champions? Speaking of Denver, they haven’t looked like the same team the past couple of weeks for some reason. The offense seems out of sync and the defense doesn’t have the same hunger also. With it being a Monday night game and want to make Osweiler look bad, they’ll win this one.

Denver Win 31-21
