Daddy’s Hangout Presents 2017 National Championship Game Prediction

College Football Bowls

We have finally made it to the end of another exciting college football season. The season ends like it did last season with the Alabama Crimson Tide facing the Clemson Tigers for the championship. Last week I predicted a total of 12 bowl games and my record was 10-2. My overall record jumped to 63-24 and my winning percentage jumped from 70.7% to 72.4%. That means for the first time I’ll finish above the 70% winning percentage goal that I’ve set for myself. Coming into these playoffs, did we have any doubt this would be the match-up for the title? Let’s see who I think will leave Tampa on Monday night as the 2017 National Champion.

There have been some who think this year’s defense was the best that Nick Saban has produced. They have about 5 or 6 guys that are projected to be drafted in April and three of them being in the top 10. On the offensive side of the ball, they have one of the most exciting players in college football and he’s a true freshman. In the championship game last year, Deshaun Watson decimated the Tide defense. Coach Nick Saban said that Watson was the best college football player he’s seen since Cam Newton. Can the Tide contain Watson and that high powered offense this year? The Clemson Tigers are trying to add another title and this is the perfect time for them. The only championship for this program came all the way back in 1981 and this is arguably their best team since that title. While many people have talked about the offense, it was their defense that opened eyes in the Ohio State game. Can the Tigers defense match the Crimson Tide defense in this game? This should be another instant classic like year, but Alabama have a QB that can create problems with his legs. In the end, I think Watson will lead Clemson in the upset of Alabama and claim the national championship.

Clemson Win 30-28
