5 Tips to Perfecting Your Golf Swing

Perfecting Your Golf Swing

Golfing is a favorite hobby of many. In fact, some people prefer to golf all year round and will even move to a warmer climate to be able to practice their favorite sport. If you are new to the sport and are interested in perfecting your game, we have put together some helpful tips to help with your golf swing.

  1. Golf swing analyzer. It could be that you are unsure of what you need to do to improve your golf swing. One way to determine what will work best for you is to invest in the best golf swing analyzer to help you decipher what you need to work on. You may need to work on your upper or lower golf stroke. Perhaps you need to work on your stance or the way you hold your club. A golf swing analyzer can help you figure out where you need improvement.

  1. Make sure your feet and shoulders are lined up properly. It is important that your feet line up with your shoulders. It is also important to have your feet spread apart wide to the width of your shoulders. It is also important to make sure that your feet are in a straight line and point towards the area in which you want to hit the ball. To practice this, put the ball on the ground and make it line up with the target. Simply step up to the ball and line up your feet so that it is even along with enough room for your club. If your body is lined up with your ball and the ball is lined up with the target, you should be able to hit the ball successfully.

  1. Bending your knees will make a difference. Avoid bending your back so that the club lays flat on the ground. You will likely need to bend your knees to do so. Be sure that you keep your back straight and extend your arms straight forward and bend your knees. If you should bend your arms, this is a sign that you are too close to the ball and need to take a couple of steps backwards. On the contrary, if you should lean forward, you are too far away from the ball.

  1. Work on your back swing. Once you have practiced lining up your body and squaring yourself with the target, you can then begin to work on your back swing. Think of the golf swing as a circle in which you start with a back swing and you create a circle by keeping your left arm straight the entire time around. If you are left-handed, then your right arm will be the limb you want to keep straight always. Draw your golf club back in to the air and keep your left arm straight. Your club should be over your head but still parallel to the ground. If it isn’t, you will need to work on this.

  1. Perfect the down swing. After you have perfected keeping your club parallel with the ground, you will need to then work on your down swing. This means that your golf club should follow the same route in the down swing as it did in the back swing. Again, the trick to accomplishing this is to keep your left arm straight. Try to avoid letting your arm pick up speed because the ball will likely go off course and not towards the target. Another thing to remember is that you need to keep your weight shift intact.
