3 Things You’re Going To Need To Do When Riding In The Summer

Riding a motorcycle in the summer can be a lot of fun, but it can also present several challenges that you’ll need to consider. Here are 3 things you’re going to need to do when riding your motorcycle this summer:

Buy Suitable Riding Clothing

Do not ride in shorts and flip flops. Riding in suitable clothing doesn’t mean riding in regular summer attire. It simply means making sure you’re not wearing a full leather one piece that will make you sweat, dehydrate you, and stop you from thinking clearly. You’re going to need a moisture wicking base layer, and a properly designed summer piece that will wick moisture away from your skin.

Take More Water Than You Think You Need

Make sure you drink plenty of water before you ride your bike, and try to drink at least 1 liter of water every hour. Riding can be extremely dehydrating in summer time. Water with electrolytes is an excellent choice. Don’t forget to plan stops to cool down either!

Stay on Top of Your Weekly Checks

People tend to ride much more in summer, so you need to stay on top of maintenance and your weekly checks. Even daily you should be checking things like the hoses, tires, fluid levels, and so on. On a weekly basis, you should be washing and drying the bike properly.

Alongside the above 3 things, make sure you’re taking general safety precautions into account. Look at the infographic below and make sure to stick with what it says!
