This past week NBA veteran guard, Lou Williams, of the Los Angeles Clippers and the Lou Williams Foundation hosted their 13th annual Lou Will Camp. This 4-day summer camp focuses on teaching basketball skills to children and teens ages 7-17. Lou Williams, alongside of trained coaching staff, spent the week helping the kids learn basic and complex hoop skills including – defensive stances, footwork, shooting skills and more. Every year Lou brings out some of the best athletes and entertainers to the camp to give the youth advice towards working on their dreams, executing, the importance of education and more.
This year Lou had a host of diverse talent surprise the kids which included Atlanta Dream player Elizabeth Williams, WNBA star and 2-time Olympian Angel McCoughtry, UNLV basketball stars and social influencers Dakota & Dylan Gonzalez and Wild-N-Out comedian Karlous Miller. Just when the kids thought they were wowed enough, Actor/Rapper_Ludacris and NBA legend Allen Iverson popped up to give the kids more inspiration and words of encouragement. “I am more than grateful for all of the support my camp has gained throughout the years,” Lou Williams states, “I have the best kids who grow with myself and the camp, the greatest coaching staff, as well as so much support from my peers in the sports/entertainment industry. This year was one to remember.” Wrapping the camp, each attendee received a swag bag, certificate of completion, medallion, trophy and complimentary ice cream from Atlanta Ice Cream Truck.
Thank you to the camp sponsors:
The Lou Williams Foundation, Peak Sports, Chick-Fil-A, Stevi B’s Pizza, Atlanta Entertainment Basketball League (AEBL), Texas Roadhouse, Milano Di Rouge and Merrill Lynch.
This is great that Lou Williams takes the time to hold these basketball camps in Atlanta every year. The kids learn so much and this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Then you add Allen Iverson and Ludacris to the extravaganza, this is awesome.
