Welcome the Week 7 of the NFL season and man last week was terrible for me. My record was 2-4, which dropped my overall record to 24-24 which means my winning percentage is 50%. Since the Philadelphia Eagles is my favorite team, I’ll take that L by picking Carolina to beat them. The Minnesota Vikings upended the Green Bay and you can say that Aaron Rodgers doing out with a broken collarbone had something to do with it. Kansas City experienced their first loss as Pittsburgh beat them in Arrowhead to rebound from their terrible outing a week before. In the biggest shocker, the New York Giants went to Mile High and beat the Broncos to earn their first win. Adrian Peterson revived his career in a major way after being traded to Arizona with a 130+ yard performance. This week I’ll be predicting seven games. Let’s Get Started!!
The Thursday night game will feature AFC West foes as Kansas City visit Oakland to face the Raiders. As we all know, Kansas City experienced their first loss last week against Pittsburgh. The Chiefs offense was grounded for the first team as the Steelers really got after Alex Smith. The defense looked great in defeat and I think that’ll continue throughout the season. Can the Kansas City offense rebound and flourish against the Raiders? After winning their first two games of the season, Oakland have dropped four games in a row as Derek Carr continue to heal from the fractured bone in his back. Can Oakland end their 4-game losing streak? I’m going with the Raiders to get back on track and beating the Chiefs to have them on a two-game slide.
Oakland Win 26-24
This was expected to be a battle between two future Hall-of-Famers, but Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees. The New Orleans Saints head to Green Bay to battle the Packers. New Orleans is on a three-game winning streak after losing their first two games. With their winning streak, New Orleans has put themselves back in the mix in the NFC South as they’re tied with Atlanta and Carolina with two losses. Can they make it four games in a row? Aaron Rodgers is out and now it’s time for Green Bay to see what they got in QB Brett Hundley. After taking over for Rodgers last week, Hundley threw 3 INTs, but he’ll have an entire week of practice. Can Hundley lead the Pack to the win? I’m going with the Packers to play inspired ball and win this one.
Green Bay Win 27-24
We head to the West Coast as the Los Angeles Rams hosts the Arizona Cardinals in a key divisional match-up. As we all know, Adrian Peterson lit a fire under the Cardinals offense as he rushed for over 130 yards in his debut. Things could be looking better for Arizona as they’ll get two of their offensive lineman back from injury. The big issue with Arizona has to be their defense as they almost gave up a huge lead last week against Tampa Bay. Last week, Los Angeles went to Jacksonville and walked away with a very impressive win against the Jaguars. They currently are atop of their division with a 4-2 record and I believe they’ll remain on top after beating Arizona.
Los Angeles Win 34-24
We head to the south as the New York Jets visit their division rival, Miami Dolphins in a key match-up. New York is coming off a heartbreaking loss at home against New England on what I think is a bad call. Despite the crushing defeat, New York has seemed to not let the unfortunate call mess up their season moving forward. After watching the game against New England, I’m convinced this young team is on the rise. Can they overcome their devastating loss? On the other hand, the Miami Dolphins is currently on a two-game winning streak as they went to Atlanta and beat the Falcons last week. Will Miami continue their winning ways continue ahead of their short week before heading to Baltimore next Thursday? I’m going with Miami to extend their winning streak to three games.
Miami Win 26-17
This is the Sunday night game and also the rematch from Super Bowl 51 as Atlanta visits the New England Patriots. The Atlanta Falcons are coming off a tough loss at home against the Miami Dolphins. In that game, Atlanta held a 17-point lead before Miami roared back to beat the Falcons. What will be the mental make-up of the Falcons as they face the Patriots again and the team they blew a 25-point lead in the Super Bowl. Can the Falcons avoid a three-game losing streak? New England squeaked by the New York Jets last week as Tom Brady continue to carry this team. New England has one of the worse defenses in the league, but the last two weeks they looked good. For me, I can’t picture Atlanta losing three games in a row so I’m picking the Falcons for the road win.
Atlanta Win 34-31
The final game of the week is of course the Monday night game between NFC East foes. The Washington Redskins visits the Philadelphia Eagles to try to avenge their opening day lost to Philly. Ever since their opening day loss, Washington has scored at least 20 points in their four games. The Redskins are coming off a tough win in San Francisco as they’re hoping to climb back in the division race against the leaders. Can Washington avenge their first loss? Philadelphia is currently on a 4-game winning streak as they’re averaging over 28 points a game during that streak. Surprisingly, the Eagles secondary has played decent besides the big plays they gave up against the Chargers. Can they continue their winning ways and strangle hold on the NFC East? I’m going with the Eagles to come away with the win.
Philadelphia Win 31-21
