10 Years Ago Today Bun B Released His II Trill Album

If you’re a follower of this site, you know I’m a huge UGK fan. You may have peeped my UGK Greatest Hits either here or online that I made a few years ago. In 2005, Bun B released his first solo album while Pimp C was locked up called Trill. While many didn’t know how Bun B would fare without Pimp C, the real fans knew that Bun could spit with the best of them. Unfortunately, Pimp C passed away in December of 2007 and Bun B already had some tracks to work with. On May 20th, he dropped the II Trill album with That’s Gangsta featured Sean Kingston as the lead single. For me, one of the dopest tracks on the album was You’re Everything. The track featured an all-star lineup of Rick Ross, David Banner and 8Ball & MJG. You can peep the track below!

You’re Everything borrows some Jodeci and you get a certified banger when putting these five southern stars together. Besides those four, the album features a slew of stars throughout the project. Z-Ro, Lil Wayne, Lupe Fiasco, Webbie, Juvenile, Mya, Chamillionaire, Pimp C, Young Buck and Lyfe Jennings all appear. All in all, if you’re a UGK fan, you won’t be disappointed in this project. In one of the more touching tracks on the album, Bun B did a tribute to Pimp C called Angel in the Sky. With the tight bond Bun B & Pimp C had, you know that had to be an emotional studio session for that track. Another standout track featured Young Buck and Lyfe Jennings on the track, If I Die II Night. Young Buck delivered on his verse, while Lyfe Jennings killed the hook and Bun B always do his thing.

It’s hard to believe that II Trill came out 10 years ago and even harder that Pimp C has been gone that long. II Trill is right up there with his Trill album as it has some great songs to ride to on there. If you haven’t peeped the album yet, check it out below here and tell me what you think.

Where are all my UGK fans? Do you remember the solo albums by Bun B? Did you know that he released his 2nd album, II Trill 10 years ago? Leave a comment below about the Bun B album or anything UGK related.
