Daddy’s Hangout 2018 Week 12 NFL Predictions

Welcome to Week 12 of the NFL season as we near the three-quarters point of the year. We’re coming off a historic Monday Night Game between the Rams and Chiefs. In what could be a Super Bowl preview, the Rams defeated the Chiefs 54-51. For me, New Orleans is still the best team in the league and they continued their league wide onslaught after decimating the Eagles. Dallas went to Atlanta and defeated the Falcons on a great game by Ezekiel Elliott plus a stout defense. The Houston Texans won their 7^th consecutive game while the Chicago Bears continue to make statements with their defense. My record from last week was 3-3, which makes my overall mark 50-33. My winning percentage dipped from 61 to 60.2%. With the traditional Thanksgiving games included, I’ll be predicting a total of seven games this week. Let’ Get Started!!

We kick things off with a battle of NFC North teams. The Chicago Bears will head to Detroit for the first Thanksgiving game to face the Lions. Chicago is currently riding a 4-game winning streak with one of those wins coming against Detroit a couple weeks ago. The Bears created more distance this past weekend with a win over the Minnesota Vikings. With the Rams and Saints having historic seasons, Chicago is hoping to host a playoff game. Can they make it five in a row? Detroit ended their three game losing streak against Carolina in dramatic fashion. The Lions lost Kerryon Johnson with a knee injury and that will affect this team. The Bears defense should continue to dominate and win this one.

Chicago Win 27-17

In the second Thanksgiving Day game, we have a battle between NFC East teams. The Washington Redskins will travel to Dallas to face the Cowboys for first place. Unfortunately, the Redskins will be without Alex Smith for the rest of the season after his horrific leg injury. Washington will turn to Colt McCoy as their starter and they signed Mark Sanchez as the backup. The Redskins defense has been one of the better ones in the league. Can they hold on to the division lead? The Cowboys are the hottest team in the division after road wins in Philadelphia and Atlanta the last couple weeks. If the Cowboys continue to run Ezekiel Elliott, they should make it three in a row. I’m rolling with Dallas to win and take over the division.

Dallas Win 31-20

We have the third & final game on Thanksgiving which is a battle of NFC South rivals. The Atlanta Falcons will travel to New Orleans to face the red-hot Saints. Atlanta is currently riding a two-game losing streak and in danger of being out of playoff contention. The Atlanta offense have looked awful the past two weeks and they’ll need an impressive performance against the Saints. Deion Jones could possibly return to help the defense this week. New Orleans have won nine games in a row and it look like Drew Brees is headed for an MVP trophy. The last three weeks, New Orleans is averaging 48 points a game. Can the Saints sweep their NFC South rival with a win? New Orleans should beat the Falcons and make it ten in a row.

New Orleans Win 41-24

We have a battle between two NFC teams that’s looking to make the playoffs with a Wild Card berth. The Seattle Seahawks will make the cross country trip to Carolina to face the Panthers. The Seahawks ended their 2-game skid last week against Green Bay. Seattle is out of contention for the division, but they’re still alive for a Wild Card berth. Russell Wilson continues to carry the team, but the defense has played well this year. After a failed 2-point attempt last week, Carolina have dropped two games in a row. If Carolina is going to hold on to one of the Wild Card berths, they need to start winning games. This should be a close battle, but I’m going with Carolina to end their losing streak.

Carolina Win 26-24

We head back to the AFC for this matchup between playoff hopefuls. The Miami Dolphins will travel to Indianapolis to face the red-hot Colts. Miami is coming off their bye week and they’re tied with a couple other teams for the final playoff spot. Miami have lost three out of their last four games and they’re in need of a win to stay in playoff contention. Will the Dolphins get their second win on the road? The Indianapolis Colts have become one of the hotter reams in the league. After starting the season 1-5, Indianapolis have won four games in a row. Andrew Luck is looking like one of the top QBs in the league again, the line is keeping him safe and they have a running game. On the defensive side of the ball, the Colts have vastly improved. Will Andrew Luck and the Colts make it five in a row? I’m riding the Colts bandwagon as they should win.

Indianapolis Win 30-20

The Sunday night game will feature a battle between NFC North rivals. The Green Bay Packers will travel to Minnesota to face the Vikings. Green Bay have lost three out of their last four games and in trouble of their season being a waste. After this game, Green Bay have a favorable schedule as they’ll be favorites in all of them except one. Aaron Rodgers have put up substantial numbers, but the Packers have still struggled. Can they win this one on the road? Minnesota is coming off a tough loss on the road against Chicago. With a tough schedule ahead of them, Minnesota will need to win this if they have a shot at the division. Minnesota was an NFC favorite at the beginning of the season and I think they’ll win this one.

Minnesota Win 27-24

We have the Monday night game with a battle between NFC South rivals. The Tennessee Titans travel to Houston to face the red hot Texans. This year, we’ve experienced two different Titans teams. On one hand, the Titans struggle and lose to the Bills. Then we have the Tennessee team that could blow out the Patriots and beat the Cowboys on the road. The status of Marcus Mariota is still in the air and Tennessee might have to turn to Blake Gabbart. The Texans have quietly become one of the better teams in the AFC and they’re a bonafied Super Bowl contender. Can they avenge their loss from earlier in the season against the Titans? I’m going with Houston to make it eight in a row.

Houston Win 27-17
