Andrew Wiggins Need to Step His Game Up Big Time

I’ve always been someone that was on the players side when it comes to them getting their money. When Andrew Wiggins signed that massive extension, it was cool and thought he could take his game to the next level. When Jimmy Butler went to Minnesota, the thinking was that the Timberwolves got their own Big 3. At times, Karl Anthony-Towns did his thing and that was until the playoffs. Jimmy Butler can get it done on both ends of the floor. Andrew Wiggins showed flashes here and there, but nothing consistent. When the whole fiasco took place when Butler wanted to be traded, both Wiggins and Towns play took a huge hit. At the end of the day, it was understandable and thought it would improve once Butler was traded.

Jimmy Butler was finally dealt to the Philadelphia 76ers and Karl Anthony-Towns is back to playing great. Towns is averaging around 21 points and 12 boards a game this season. Minnesota also committed to him by inking Towns to a huge extension. That brings me to Andrew Wiggins as he’s averaging below 17 points, a little over 4 boards and a pair of assists a game. I’ve peeped a couple games prior to this game against my Atlanta Hawks. With the Hawks being an inferior team, the thought was that Wiggins could go off on them. Andrew Wiggins finished with 16 points and 6 boards on 5-14 shooting. The big issue was that he was 5-12 from the FT line and the fans boo’d him.

After the game Wiggins stated that there’s no love lost for the booing fans. Seeing that I peeped the whole game, the fans should continue to show their displeasure in Wiggins. At times, it seems like he’s just going through the motions as he brings no energy to the game. Make no mistake, Wiggins got the potential to be a really good ball player. He’s a former #1 pick who drew comparisons to Lebron James coming out of high school. The one year he played at Kansas, Wiggins showed those same flashes. Let’s be real, Wiggins wasn’t the top pick in the 2014 NBA Draft for nothing.

The question is, can the former #1 pick turn things around? Or will he continue to play like he is not motivated whatsoever? Have you checked out Andrew Wiggins play this year? What do you think? Leave a comment below about anything related to Andrew Wiggins or the Timberwolves.
