2019 College Football National Championship Prediction

After the Conference Championships, plus the bowl games that I’ve predicted my record is 8-4 heading into the Championship Game. My overall mark is 52-17, which makes my winning percentage dip from 77.2 to 75.4%. Either way, my goal of a 70% winning percentage will be met and that’s pretty cool. Let’s get to the championship game as we all know that Clemson and Alabama took care of business. This will mark the first time two undefeated teams will meet in the championship game in the playoff era. From the beginning of the season, everyone had these two teams meeting each other in this game. In the Cotton Bowl, Clemson dominated the Fighting Irish on their way to a 30-3 win. In the Orange Bowl, Alabama used a dominating 1st quarter to smother the Sooners and win 45-34. Who will leave with the National Championship after Monday?

The top ranked Alabama Crimson Tide dominated their opponents the entire season. They barely escaped the Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC Championship game as Tua went down with an injury. Jalen Hurts relieved Tua and lead the Crimson Tide to the victory. Of course, this happened in the Championship Game last year as Tua relieved Hurts and lead them to the win. In their game against Oklahoma, the Crimson Tide jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter. Despite the Sooners effort, the Tide were able to walk away with the win and advance to the title game. After having ankle surgery, Tua looked like himself that dominated and was damn near flawless. Can the Tide beat the Tigers for the 3rd time in 4 years? Will Nick Saban win his 7th title and break the tie with Bear Bryant?

The 2nd ranked Clemson Tigers also dominated their opponents throughout the season. They had one scare and that was against the tough Syracuse Orange the game after their QB controversy. The Tigers named Trevor Lawrence the starting QB and Kelly Bryant announced he was transferring. In that Syracuse game, Lawrence was hurt, and the Tigers barely escaped with the win. Clemson put on a defensive masterpiece against the Fighting Irish. They smothered the Irish offense and that was done without one of their top linemen in Dexter Lawrence. Trevor Lawrence is one of the top QBs in the nation and he’s only a freshman. Lawrence reminds me of Peyton Manning, plus Travis Etienne is a beast at the RB position and defense is one of the best. This will be a hell of a game, much like the ones from 2015 and 2016. In the end, I’m rolling with the Tigers to win the national championship.

Clemson Win 31-30
