Clemson Roll Past Tide to Capture Championship

Clemson Roll Past Tide to Capture Championship

Clemson made a statement on Monday night! The Tigers rolled past the Tide 44-16 to win their 2nd championship in 3 years. The first quarter was everything the fans wanted. At the end of the first quarter, Alabama lead 16-14. We had saw a series of big plays and we thought this is going to be an epic championship game. Unfortunately, the final three quarters, Clemson outscored Alabama 30-0. The Clemson defense was on top of their game all night as the Tide couldn’t gain any momentum. As far as the Clemson offense, they were on top of their game all night. If it wasn’t great runs, amazing catches or Trevor Lawrence commanding the offense. When Coach Dabo Swinney replaces Kelley Bryant for Lawrence, this is what he envisioned.

Trevor Lawrence finished the game 20 of 32 for 347 yards and 3 TDs. Just to think, Lawrence is just a freshman and I’m sure NFL teams are waiting for two years when he’s eligible to go pro. We also can look at the receiving core of the Tigers who will also be a problem for years to come. Coming into the Championship game, Clemson was my pick to win it all, but I didn’t think they’d dominate the way they did. My final record for the season was 53-17. My overall winning percentage jumped from 75.4 to 75.7%. The question now is, will we get Clemson vs. Alabama 5 next year? We don’t know, but let’s take a look at my top 10 to end this season.

  1. Clemson Tigers
  2. Alabama Crimson Tide
  3. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
  4. Ohio State Buckeyes
  5. Oklahoma Sooners
  6. LSU Tigers
  7. Florida Gators
  8. Washington State Cougars
  9. Georgia Bulldogs
  10. Texas Longhorns
