3 Ways to Reconnect with Your Spouse

As parents and soul mates, we have so much on our plates every day of the week. After being together for 20-plus years, we’ve been through all the ups-and-downs that life has to offer. With two kids out of school and in college and the youngest going to high school next year, we’ve decided to make some changes. While parenting will never take a back burner, we decided to focus on our marriage and each other more. One of the things we’re doing is trying to get out of each other’s comfort zone. For the first time since we’ve been together, she’s watching sports with me. On the other hand, I’ve been watching some of her favorite TV shows along with her. Below are three other things we’ve been doing together that allows us to pend quality time together.

Health and Business

With our kids getting older, we decided to focus more on our long-term health. One thing we’re already looking forward to is being grandparents one day. We both have co-workers who talk about their grandkids and how much they love being grandparents. First thing we’ve started doing is heading to the gym at least three times a week together. Throughout the year, we’re trying to do something at least everyday to build towards a better version of ourselves. We’re both bloggers, so we tend to bounce ideas off each other with hopes of sparking more creativity. This is a yearlong project with each other as it’s a 365 days for better health and fitness. Talking to Each Other More

After getting everything situated in the mornings, we sometimes walk around the neighborhood. During that time, we talk and do a lot of reminiscing about so many things pertaining to us and the kids. Before that, one of us make some breakfast. We sit down and talk about what’s going on with some eggs, bacon, grits, waffles and Nate’s Coffee. You will be surprised at how much conversations with your spouse can be really therapeutic.

Trying Something She Loves

Of course, my wife loves to watch TV and have quite a few shows that we now watch together. One of her passions have always been anything to do with plants. For me, this was the biggest change for me because I’ve never known anything about plants. My dad was always into anything related to plants. When he passed away over four years ago, my employer sent a plant that we’ve been taking care of ever since. After that, this became something we started doing together. Recently, we tried the Octopot because I’m always researching for the best products. The Octopot Grow Systems is perfect for the professionals or the beginning who’s into plants.
