Daddy’s Hangout 2019 Week 13 College Football Predictions

Welcome to Week 13 of the college football season as the end nears. Last week my record was 5-0, which raised my overall mark to 41-9. My winning percentage jumped from 80 to 82%. The big news coming out of college football last weekend was the injury to Tua Tugavoiloa. Tua dislocated his hip, broke his nose and suffered a concussion. We all wish him a speedy recovery. As far as the games, the Georgia Bulldogs clinched an SEC Championship berth by defeating Auburn. Oklahoma kept their playoff hopes alive with an improbable come from behind win against Baylor. Minnesota suffered their first defeat as they fell to Iowa on the road. Penn State kept their playoff hopes alive also with a win over Indiana. There will be four games predicted this weekend.

The big game will see the 8th ranked Penn State Nittany Lions traveling to Columbus to face the 2nd ranked Ohio State Buckeyes. The Penn State versus Ohio State game is the only one featuring ranked opponents. Let’s get started!

We have a game with so much riding on it in the Big Ten. The 8th ranked Penn State Nittany Lions travel to Columbus to battle the 2nd ranked Ohio State Buckeyes. This game has playoff and conference championship implications. If Penn State can upset Ohio State on the road, they’ll have the inside track to play in the Big Ten title game. With Rutgers being their final opponent, chances are good for Penn State. If Penn State were to beat Ohio State, how would the playoff committee see Penn State? They most likely would jump over Ohio State, but would they be fourth or fifth? For Ohio State, if they win then they’ll be in the Big Ten Championship game.

The Buckeyes wouldn’t be out of the water yet because this is the tough part of their schedule. They will travel to the Big House next week and then the title game with a win here. Will the Buckeyes hold off the tough Nittany Lions? I’m going with the Buckeyes to continue their winning ways.

Ohio State Win 34-24

We head to the SEC for this next game. The Texas A&M Aggies head to Athens to face the 4th ranked Georgia Bulldogs. Texas A&M is looking to play spoiler since their season didn’t go as planned. What better way to turn a disappointing than upset the SEC East champs? Can Jimbo Fisher come up with a game plan to beat the Bulldogs? Georgia has played their best football against the top teams on their schedule. The issue with Georgia is their performance against those unranked teams. As we all know, their lone loss came at home against South Carolina. Could the Bulldogs suffer the same fate against another unranked squad? I’m picking the Bulldogs to continue their winning ways.

Georgia Win 34-20

We head to Big Ten country for this game. The 13th ranked Michigan Wolverines travel to Indiana to battle the Hoosiers. Michigan has arguably been one of the hottest teams in the country. The Wolverines are playing for better bowl position and spoil their rivals’ season. Next week this Michigan team hosts the Ohio State Buckeyes. Could this game against Indiana be a trap for Michigan? The country will be looking forward to the Wolverines and Buckeyes, will Michigan? Indiana have had a great season and almost pulled the upset over Penn State last week. The Hoosiers is also playing for a good bowl game also. Indiana has one of the better offenses in the Big Ten. Will they have enough to upset the Wolverines? I’m picking Michigan to head into the Ohio State with a win.

Michigan Win 27-21

The final game of the week takes place between Big 12 rivals. The Texas Longhorns will head for Waco to battle the 14th ranked Baylor Bears. The Longhorns are embroiled in a disappointing season after huge expectations at the start of the year. They enter this game with four losses and the loss against Iowa State was disappointing. Texas will hope to finish their season on a high note by winning their final two games. Baylor suffered their first defeat last Saturday against Oklahoma. The Bears dominated the first half but allowed the Sooners to come back and defeat them. Despite the loss, Baylor still have a shot at reaching the Big 12 Championship game. The Bears need the Sooners to drop one of their final games and they win out.

If Baylor could beat Texas, it’ll go a long way in recruiting also. This is a tough one, but I’ll go with Baylor to hand Texas their fifth loss.
