Urban Legend from T.I. Released 15 Years Ago Today

Trap Muzik was arguably the best album from T.I. Actually, Trap Muzik is my top album from T.I. and Urban Legend is slightly after that. Urban Legend is the third album from T.I. and the follow up to Trap Muzik. Urban Legend dropped 15 years ago today and it continued T.I.’s incredible run. During this time, T.I. started referring himself as the King of the South. After the Urban Legend album, we all can understand why he done that. While T.I. was still putting out music from Trap Muzik, he dropped his first single off of Urban Legend. Bring Em’ Out was the first single released and it was dropped a little over a month before the album. Bring Em’ Out sampled Jay-Z from his track, What More Can I Say off the Black Album. Bring Em Out went gold and was a top-5 track in the country.

With Bring Em Out as the lead single, Urban Legend sold almost 200,000 records the first week of its release. T.I. waited until the first of the year to release another single off Urban Legend. U Don’t Know Me was the second single off the album. While U Don’t Know Me didn’t chart as high as Bring Em Out, it went on to go platinum. U Don’t Know Me was another dope single and it was nominated for several awards. Anytime T.I. get production from DJ Toomp, it’s usually an instant hit. U Don’t Know Me was no different as this was another standout track off the project. In the spring of 2005, T.I. released the third and final single of the album. ASAP was the single and it also went gold also. ASAP was looked at as a dis to Lil’ Flip whom he beefed with during this time.

As mentioned before, this is my second favorite album from T.I. Lil Wayne, Pharrell, Trick Daddy, B.G., Lil Kim, Daz Dillinger, Mannie Fresh, Nelly and the P$C. I’m feeling all the tracks off the album except for about three tracks. Below is the track listing and it’s followed by the stream links.
