The Houston Texans Defeated Patriots on Sunday Night

The Houston Texans defeated Patriots on the Sunday night game. Deshaun Watson accounted for 4 TDs and one of those he caught. With the loss, the Baltimore Ravens take over the top spot in the AFC. In the highly anticipated game, Baltimore edged the 49ers 20-17 on a last second field goal. With the 49ers loss and the Saints beating Atlanta, they’re tied atop of the NFC. San Francisco will travel to New Orleans to battle for first place in the NFC next week. The Cincinnati Bengals finally notched their first victory by beating the New York Jets. In a battle for first place in the AFC West, Kansas City blew out Oakland 40-9. The Rams rebounded from their embarrassing loss to Baltimore by blowing out Arizona 34-7.

The Miami Dolphins played their best game as they beat the Eagles 37-31. Nick Foles was pulled as the Buccaneers beat Jacksonville 28-11. The Washington Redskins went to Carolina and beat the Panthers on a big day from Derrius Guice. In Drew Lock’s first start, he tossed 2 TD passes as the Broncos upended the Chargers. Aaron Rodgers tossed 4 TDs as the Packers beat the Giants 31-13. The Tennessee Titans continue to look great with Ryan Tannehill as they beat the Colts 31-17 on the road. In a rematch of the brawl, Pittsburgh took down Cleveland 20-13. With one more game in Week 13, let’s see how the Texans versus Patriots game played out.

First Half

The team basically was feeling themselves out at the beginning of the game. New England’s new kicker, Kai Forbath hit a 23-yard field goal halfway through the first. The Texans answered m, but they scored a touchdown. Deshaun Watson hit Duke Johnson with a 14-yard TD pass. The defenses continued to shine on both sides of the ball. Deshaun Watson hit another touchdown pass to put Houston up 14-3. Watson hit Darren Fells on a 13-yard touchdown throw. We finished the first half with Houston leading New England 14-3.

Second Half

The Patriots defense continued to hold the Texans without a score. On the other side, the New England offense just can’t get things going. Watson hit Will Fuller on a touchdown pass, but replay showed it wasn’t a legit catch. On the following play, Watson hit Kenny Stills on a 35 yard pass. The Texans were in control halfway through the third quarter with a 21-3 lead. New England drove the ball back down the field and scored. With the third quarter almost over, Tom Brady hit James White on a 12-yard pass. Houston quickly drove down the field and scored again. DeAndre Hopkins hit Deshaun Watson on a 6-yard pass on a trick play. Houston lead 28-9 and seemed like the game was over.

New England scored on a 11 yard pass from Tom Brady to bring the score to 28-15 as the 2-point conversion failed. Houston didn’t do much on offense and the Patriots got the ball back. The Texans looked like a team that was ready to celebrate as the Patriots scored again. New England drove the ball quickly and scored with 50 seconds remaining. The score was 28-22 and the Patriots almost retrieved the onside kick. With no timeouts remaining, Houston sealed the win. The Texans go to 8-4 with a game lead over Tennessee and they face Denver at home next week. With the loss, New England drops to 10-2 and now only hold a game lead over Buffalo. The Patriots head home next week and battle the Kansas City Chiefs.
