Daddy’s Hangout 2019 Fiesta Bowl Predictions

Daddy’s Hangout 2019 Fiesta Bowl Predictions

We finished the regular season with some pretty entertaining conference championship games. The first three spots in the college football playoffs were set, but the fourth was up for grabs. With LSU dominating Georgia and Utah getting blown out by Oregon it was wide-open. We all thought the Oklahoma and Baylor winner would have the inside track to that spot. With Oklahoma winning, they’re set to face LSU in the other semifinal game at the Peach Bowl. In the Fiesta Bowl, we get a must see game between the Clemson Tigers and Ohio State Buckeyes. Who will advance to the championship on January 13th?

The Ohio State Buckeyes have dominated on both sides of the ball throughout the year. Justin Fields and Chase Young were both finalists for the Heisman Trophy. The Buckeyes offense has been next level and J.K. Dobbins is a beast in that backfield. Chase Young is a game changer and can throw off an entire offense with his dominant play. The Clemson offense will be by far the best they’ve faced all season. The Tigers will try to limit Chase Young when they’re on offense. Dabo Sweeney is one of the best coaches in the nation and he’ll cook up something to frustrate Justin Fields. If the Buckeyes are going to advance, J.K. Dobbins will be relied on heavily. With the Clemson defense not as dominate as years past, Dobbins could wear down that defensive line and open up the passing game. Can Ohio State advance past Clemson?

As far as Clemson is concerned, they have kind of been forgotten all season. They come into this game as the defending champions and winner of two of the last three years. Trevor Lawrence has been playing like one of the best QBs throughout the second half of the season. Tavis Etienne is also one of the best and toughest running backs in the nation. The receiving core can score at anytime of the game and from anywhere on the field. The secondary of the Buckeyes will be tested with the Clemson receivers. The Tigers defense will have to come up huge against the Buckeyes offense. How will they fare against Justin Fields? This is a tough game to pick because they’re equal in a sense. For this one, I’ll go with the more battled tested team in Clemson than Ohio State. Clemson should advance to the championship game.

Clemson Win 41-31
