Daddy’s Hangout 2019 Peach Bowl Predictions

Now that we have the first semifinal out of the way, let’s look at the other one. I’m predicting Clemson to leave the Fiesta Bowl with the win. Who will face Clemson for the national championship on January 13th? The top ranked LSU Tigers will face the 4th ranked Oklahoma Sooners. LSU has arguably been the best team in college football throughout the season. They are led by Heisman Trophy winning Joe Burrow. The Tigers offense is as potent as it gets seeing they can score at any time. As far as Oklahoma goes, they had a lot of help to snag that final playoff position. Georgia lost to this very good LSU team and Oregon blew out Utah to open the door for the Sooners. Can they pull off the upset against LSU?

The Tigers don’t possess the dominant defense they’ve had in years past. On defense, they do have some extraordinary talent, but this team is led by its offense. Joe Burrow has shattered most of, if not all the records at LSU. The receiving core is as talented as any in the country. LSU’s defense will need to step up in a major way against the Sooners offense. LSU is really familiar with Jalen Hurts and know he’s a game changer from his days at Alabama. Joe Burrow will most likely be able to move the ball on the Oklahoma defense. If this game turns into a shootout, the Tigers defense is much better than the Sooners. While everyone will be picking LSU to win, they shouldn’t come into this game overconfident. The battle between two of the Heisman finalists will definitely be fun but can LSU leave win the win.

Oklahoma is already the underdog coming into the game as people didn’t expect them to make it. The game is being played in Atlanta, which is virtually SEC country. The Tigers had a nice sized crowd when they were in Atlanta for the SEC Championship game against Georgia. The Sooners will need to get Dede Lamb involved from the beginning of the game. Lamb is a game changer and could give the Tigers defense fits. Jalen Hurts is a proven winner and comes up huge in pressure situations. Hurts will need to run the ball just as much as he passes it if Oklahoma will have any chance. The Sooners defense has had times where they played great and will need a stellar performance here. This should be a good game for about three quarters and I’m expecting LSU to run away in the fourth.

LSU Win 45-34
