3 Adrenaline-Fueled Hobbies You Should Try This Year

The January Blues is a real thing! Every year starts off in the same way, you feel a little bit down and depressed after all the excitement of the festive season. It seems like as soon as the Christmas tree goes down, then all your spirits drop. As a result, you need a bit of a pick-me-up. Why don’t you inject some more excitement and adrenaline into your year by taking up a new hobby or two? I’m not thinking along the lines of your typical boring hobbies. Instead, here are some action-packed ideas that will get your heart rate thumping and the adrenaline soaring:

Go Karting

Go Karting gets a slightly underappreciated reputation – in my opinion anyway. I think lots of people may see it as a kiddie activity. However, it’s actually one of the closest things you can get to real motor racing. The difference is that it’s safer, easier to drive the vehicles, and you don’t need to undergo any training! You can head down to a track for some high-speed racing that will really make you feel entertained. Grab some friends and go down together, or you can go alone and meet some new people. Make a habit out of it, and you’ll have a super fun hobby to keep you occupied during the year.

Axe Throwing

No, I’m deadly serious, this is a real hobby. You may have seen the Game of Thrones and Aquaman actor – Jason Momoa – show off his axe-throwing skills in an Instagram post a few years back. Believe it or not but this sparked a trend where more and more people took up this hobby. If you’re worried about safety issues, then don’t be. There’s an article called Is Axe Throwing Safe? that should clear up any of your concerns. As long as you follow the rules, then there’ll be no issues! Axe throwing is surprisingly fun and tense. There’s something about chucking a huge axe at a target that stirs the primitive emotions lurking deep beneath your surface. It’s the ultimate hobby if you want to feel like an alpha! With its rise in popularity you can likely find an axe throwing business in your city. Axe Thro Co is a good one in San Diego.

Rock Climbing

I love the thought of rock climbing as it’s a hobby you can alter as you get better. To start, you may do some simple climbing in a climbing center. You’re strapped up to avoid falling, and you can take your time. It’s still exhilarating, but you don’t have to worry about your safety. Then, as you get better, you can take on bigger challenges. Larger walls, less support, and more risk. You could even drop your support completely and try climbing with nothing attached to you! It will definitely get your heart pumping, and the feeling of successful scaling a wall is so thrilling.

Get yourself off the sofa, say goodbye to your January Blues and start doing something exciting to kick-off 2020. Hobbies are excellent if you want to meet new people or have a more entertaining time with your existing friends. Plus, they can be a great excuse to get some much-needed alone time and escape from stress.
