Daddy’s Hangout NFL 2020 Conference Championship Predictions

Daddy’s Hangout NFL 2020 Conference Championship Predictions

Who had the Kansas City taking on the Tennessee Titans for a chance at the Super Bowl?  Did you also have the San Francisco 49ers hosting the Green Bay Packers to represent the NFC? The 49ers-Packers matchup was more believable than the AFC title game. My record for the Wild Card round was 1-3, but the Divisional games were the complete opposite. Last week my record was 3-1 and the only defeat was that Titans team beating Baltimore. In the AFC, Tennessee rode Derrick Henry to an improbable win over the top seed. Tennessee frustrated Lamar Jackson into 2 INTs and a fumble as the leading MVP candidate couldn’t get in a rhythm. In the other matchup, Kansas City made a historic comeback and beat the Texans. Houston held a 24-0 lead in the first quarter before being outscored 51-7 the final 3 quarters.

In the AFC, San Francisco used their defense to smother the Vikings the entire game. San Francisco beat Minnesota 27-10 and will host the NFC Championship on Sunday. In the other NFC Divisional game, Green Bay beat Seattle 28-23 in the closest game of the weekend. Aaron Rodgers made enough plays and the running game has been the key for Green Bay. Russell Wilson almost lead the Seahawks to another comeback win like we’ve grown accustomed to. In the end, Green Bay’s offense made enough plays to keep the ball away from Wilson. In the AFC, we have the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Tennessee Titans for a Super Bowl berth. The NFC will have the San Francisco 49ers hosting the Green Bay Packers. Who will advance to play in Super Bowl LIV?

Daddy’s Hangout NFL 2020 Conference Championship PredictionsDaddy’s Hangout NFL 2020 Conference Championship PredictionsThe Kansas City Chiefs will be hosting the Tennessee Titans for the right to go to the Super Bowl. Tennessee is the 6th seed and they hold road victories over New England and Baltimore. New England is the defending champions and the Ravens were the favorites this season. The formula for success has been simple for Tennessee, run Derrick Henry and play aggressive defense. Henry led the NFL in rushing this past season despite missing a game. In the postseason, he picked up where he left off and has even gotten stronger. Ryan Tannehill has been playing mistake-free football and his timely passes have been crucial. The defense of the Titans deserve some shine also as they frustrated Lamar Jackson into three turnovers. Can the Titans defense keep up their intensity against the reigning MVP? Will Derrick Henry continue his run where’s damn near unstoppable?

Kansas City is in the same position they were a year ago. Last season, Kansas City hosted the AFC Championship game and it was against New England. As we all know, they came up short in their bid for the Super Bowl. After an impressive and historic performance last week against Houston, the Chiefs are once again a game away from the Super Bowl. The Chiefs offense struggled at the beginning, but they ran off 51 points in their rout over Houston. Patrick Mahomes is like a magician and the defense will need to key in on Derrick Henry. The Chiefs don’t have great corners, but they may need to stack the line and make Ryan Tannehill beat them. Will the running game of the Titans prevent Mahomes and the offense from getting a rhythm? This is another tough pick, but I’m thinking the Chiefs get it done this season.

Kansas City Win 34-24

Daddy’s Hangout NFL 2020 Conference Championship PredictionsDaddy’s Hangout NFL 2020 Conference Championship PredictionsThe San Francisco 49ers will host the Green Bay Packers to see who advances to the Super Bowl. These two teams are the top 2 seeds in a tough NFC as they both took care of business last week. The 49ers used their dominant defense to frustrate Kirk Cousins and the Viking offense. The Niners defense and run offense has been their strengths throughout the season. In their game against Minnesota, they relied on that defensive line and Tevin Coleman running the ball. The Niners offense possess three really, good running backs, Greg Kittles and a bevy of wide receivers. Ever since they traded for Emmanuel Sanders, Jimmy Garoppolo and the receiving have greatly benefitted. On defense, the return of Dee Ford sparked the defense to be even more aggressive. Can they bring that intensity against Aaron Rodgers and the Packers?

Green Bay has had an excellent season and it earned them a first round bye. We all know what Aaron Rodgers is capable of, but the running game helped this season. Aaron Jones was one of the top running backs in the league and his backup, Jamaal Williams is good. The Packers gambled by spending a lot of money on defense during free agency and it paid off. Green Bay had one of the better defenses in the league and they pressured the opposing quarterback. Green Bay edged Seattle last week to set up this matchup for a chance at the Super Bowl. With this 49ers-Packers game, this takes me back to their rivalry from the 90s. We had Brett Favre battling Steve Young in the old Candlestick Park. Can Rodgers make it back to the Super Bowl? I trust the 49ers defense to come through and beat the Packers.

San Francisco Win 27-17
