2020 Western Conference Finals Between Lakers and Nuggets

We have finally got the matchup for the 2020 Western Conference Finals of the NBA. The Los Angeles Lakers will take on the Denver Nuggets for the chance to reach the NBA Finals. The Lakers took down the Houston Rockets in five games after dropping the first one. The Denver Nuggets used another epic comeback to reach the Western Conference Finals. Like their first round series against Utah, Denver came back after being down 3-1 against the Los Angeles Clippers. Many had the 2020 Western Conference Finals matchup being between both teams from Los Angeles. Denver was fueled by epic performances by Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic. While people wanted to see the Lakers battle the Clippers, this will be an amazing series. Will the Lakers march by the Nuggets and reach the NBA Finals? Could the Nuggets find it in them to upset the Lakers?

Los Angeles comes into this matchup as the top seed in the Western Conference. Many felt that Lebron is the MVP of the league and Anthony Davis the top defensive guy. They both have enjoyed an amazing run in the playoffs and taking over a game whenever they wanted. In the last two games against the Rockets, the shooters for the Lakers really stepped up. Rajon Rondo has been a catalyst on both ends of the floor for the Lakers. Lebron is seeking his 10th trip to the NBA Finals with his eyes on a 4th championship. The reason Anthony Davis came to Los Angeles is for the chance to play for a championship. With the Nuggets not resorting to small ball, how will the Lakers handle it? Can guys like Danny Green and Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope continue their hot shooting? Can the Lakers contain all those weapons?

Denver has amazed onlookers during this playoff run. In the first round, they came back and defeated Utah after being down 3-1. They did the same exact thing against the Clippers, who’s viewed as a championship team. Jamal Murray has catapulted himself into a superstar doing his time in the bubble. Nikola Jokic has been great seeing I had him in the MVP conversation a season ago. Michael Porter Jr., Paul Millsap and a few others have stepped up in those elimination games. The Nuggets defense improved from the first round when Donavan Mitchell lit them up. Denver has the scorers to go toe-to-toe with anyone in the league. How will they defend Anthony Davis and more importantly Lebron James? With the Nuggets facing all kinds of adversity in these playoffs, can they get over the hump? I’m picking the Lakers to advance. Los Angeles Win Series 4-2
