On Top of the World Dropped 25 Years Ago by 8Ball & MJG

8Ball & MJG are my favorite duo ever in the hip hop. They were introduced to the world with their classic debut, Comin’ Out Hard. The 9 tracks album had the perfect title because the project was hard. After buying Comin’ Out Hard I was instantly a fan of 8Ball & MJG. The following year, 8Ball & MJG dropped their On Tha Outside Lookin’ In joint. On Tha Outside Lookin’ In was a tremendous album and one that I absolutely love. This is one that I’ve always remembered because it was released on my 17th birthday. The next year 8Ball & MJG came back out with their 3rd album under the Suave House umbrella. On Top of the World was the name of the album. On Top of the World was the album that made them a household name across the country.

The album reached all the way to #2 in the country in the R&B and hip hop album category. Space Age Pimpin was the only single that was released off the album. On Top of the World featured artists from Suave House along with Big Mike, E-40 and Mac Mall. Pimp in my Own Rhyme, For Real, All in My Mind, Hand f the Devil and Space Age Pimpin are my top 5 tracks. I’ve said many times that 8Ball & MJG’s first 3 albums are just as good as anybody else’s.
