Daddy’s Hangout 2020 Week 16 NFL Predictions

Welcome to Week 16 of the NFL season as we are almost done with this tumultuous outing. The big news coming out of last week was the Jets beating the Rams for their first win. On Monday Night, the Bengals upset the Pittsburgh Steelers which was one of my losses. My record last week was 4-4, which dropped my mark to 76-43. The winning percentage dipped from 64.9 to 63.9%. The Chargers won their second consecutive game by beating the Las Vegas Raiders. The Chicago Bears beat Minnesota to stay alive in the NFC playoff hunt. The fourth loss came when the Kansas City Chiefs beat the New Orleans Saints. This week I’m hoping to do better despite the 70% goal is out the window. I’ll be predicting another 9 games this week so hopefully things will go better. Let’s get it!

We kick things off with the Christmas Day game, which is the only one. The Minnesota Vikings head down to New Orleans to face the Saints. This is a rematch of the playoff game from a year ago where the Vikings upset the Saints. The Vikings still have a slim chance at the playoffs, but they need a lot of help. They are currently two games behind Arizona and one behind the Bears. Can they pull off another upset in New Orleans? The Saints have lost two games in a row now. They went from being on top of the NFC to now tied with Seattle for 2^nd place. Of course, only the top seed will get the bye and they would need the Packers to lose their last two. The Saints should beat the Vikings in this one. New Orleans Win 31-21

This is the first of three games slated to be played on Saturday. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers travel to Detroit to face the Lions. The Bucs are hoping to clinch a playoff berth in this one and create some momentum in the process. Tampa is currently tied with the Rams for the 5^th spot, but Los Angeles owns the tiebreaker. Can the Bucs beat the upset-minded Lions at home? Detroit are in the midst of another losing season and plenty questions surround their future? Could this be the end of Matthew Stafford in Detroit? Who will be the coach next season? With all of that, can the Lions find a way to upset the Bucs? It will be a competitive game, but the Bucs will win. Tampa Bay Win 34-24

We head to the NFC West for this showdown. San Francisco 49ers will head to Arizona to battle the Cardinals, who’s in the process of trying to clinch a playoff berth. The 49ers have faced deficits all season and now the quarterback position is an issue. They signed Josh Rosen to be the backup to their usual third string quarterback this week. Can the 49ers find a way to help spoil the playoff chances of Arizona? The Cardinals are currently on a 2-game winning streak. Kyler Murray got back on track last week against the Eagles. The Cardinals can clinch a berth with a win and Bears loss this week. Arizona should find a way to beat the depleted 49ers squad. Arizona Win 31-20

We stay out west, but head to the AFC side of things. The Miami Dolphins will travel to Las Vegas to try to eliminate the Raiders from playoff contention. The Dolphins also have the Baltimore Ravens on their tails as they’re tied for the final playoff spot. The Dolphins hold the tiebreaker and that means they control their own destiny. Can Tua continue to win and lead the Dolphins into the playoffs? Las Vegas has lost two in a row and 4 of their last 5 games to all but knock themselves out of the playoffs. Derek Carr went down with an injury in their loss to the Chargers. Marcus Mariota came in and played well in relief of Carr. Mariota could maybe put his bid in to be the starter next season as they upset Miami. Las Vegas Win 27-24

We stay in the AFC for a matchup that could change the seeding in the conference. The Indianapolis Colts travel to Pittsburgh to face the Steelers. Indianapolis has been on a roll lately as they have won three of their last four games. Overall, they have won 5 of their last 6 games, but they still remain tied with Tennessee for the division lead. With the Titans holding the tiebreak, the Colts need to win out and have Tennessee to lose at least 1 of their final two games. Pittsburgh has lost three consecutive games after starting the season 11-0. They fell to the Bengals on Monday and that should be a wakeup call for the Steelers. Big Ben hasn’t been playing his best ball and that could continue against the Colts. I’m going with the Colts to beat the Steelers. Indianapolis Win 24-21

We have a battle between two teams with hopes of still making the playoffs. The New York Giants will head to Baltimore to face the Ravens. The Giants have lost two in a row after their four game winning streak. Daniel Jones is still nursing some nagging injuries, but could return for this one. New York still remains in contention for the division as they sit a game behind Washington. On the other hand, Baltimore is still on the outside looking in for the playoffs. They are tied with Miami, but the Dolphins have the tiebreaker. The Ravens would need to win their final two games and have Miami lose one. Baltimore is playing like a team on a mission and I’m picking them to win. Baltimore Win 26-17

We head to the NFC West for a game that could determine the division. The Los Angeles Rams will travel to the Pacific Northwest to face the Seattle Seahawks. The Rams were looked at as potential Super Bowl contenders throughout the season. Last week, they had one of the worse losses imaginable as they fell to the Jets for their first win. Los Angeles will have to regroup and try to stop Russell Wilson. With Seattle, they remain in contention for the top seed. They would need Green Bay to lose their final two games and the Saints lose at least one. Seattle must win their final two games in the process. This is a tricky game and I’m thinking the Rams will rebound in a major way. Los Angeles Win 31-30

We have the Sunday Night game that could be a potential Super Bowl matchup. The Tennessee Titans travel to Green Bay to face the Packers. Tennessee has won four of their last five games and three of them were in dominating fashion. Derrick Henry continues to wreak havoc on opposing defenses. During this 5-game stretch, the Titans have scored at least 30 points. In two of those games, they have put up over 40 points. Green Bay is hoping to lock up the top seed with a win or Saints loss. The Packers have won four in a row and 6 of their last 7 games. Can this Packer team stop Derrick Henry and the Titans offense? This is a tough one, but I’m going with Green Bay to edge the Titans. Green Bay Win 30-24

The final game of the week and last Monday Night game of the year is a AFC East battle. The Buffalo Bills will travel to New England to battle the Patriots. Buffalo just finished clinching the division, which was their first in 25 years. Buffalo is also looking to try and hold on to that 2^nd spot in the AFC. The Bills have won four in a row and 7 of their last 8 games. Josh Allen is a legitimate MVP candidate and the Bills are a threat to Kansas City. New England is just looking to spoil the Bills playoff position with this one. Can the Patriots put together a great game and upset the Bills? They will have to heavily rely on the run to keep the Bills offense off the field. I’m still picking the Bills to win this one. Buffalo Win 31-21
