We are now down to the Final Four of March Madness. Before going on, the legendary Roy Williams announced his retirement from coaching college basketball. Williams is one of the all-time great coaches in the game of college basketball. Between Kansas and North Carolina, he coached for 33 years after being an assistant for the Tar Heels. Now onto the Final Four as we will see the Baylor Bears battle the Houston Cougars. In the other game, we will see Gonzaga take on the surprising UCLA Bruins to see who advances to the title game. In my Elite 8 predictions, the only game me and others failed to get right was Michigan falling to UCLA. Gonzaga took care of USC; Baylor outlasted Arkansas and Houston took down Oregon State. Who will advance from the Final Four to the championship game on Monday night?
Baylor vs. Houston
We have a battle between two teams representing the state of Texas. The other big news coming out of that great state was that the Longhorns hired Chris Beard to become their new coach. The Baylor Bears have been looked at as the second best team all season. Houston has flown under the radar, but you can put them in that conversation as best team also. These two squads have contrasting styles and that will make for an incredible matchup. This could be one of those games that will come down to who has the last possession. It will not surprise me at all if this game would even go to overtime. I’m leaning towards Baylor because they play a little better defense. I’m picking the Cougars to shock the Bears and go to their first title game since Phi Slama Jama. Houston Advances
Gonzaga vs. UCLA
We have a battle between two teams that are looking to make history. The Zags are trying to become the first team to win the title and go undefeated. This feat hasn’t happened since the 1976 Indiana Hoosiers team. If Gonzaga is able to do that, they will be put in the category as an all-time great team. Mark Few has gotten close throughout the years, but will he finally win that elusive championship? UCLA is a storied program, but they’re trying to make history also. They are already the first play-in team to get this far in the tournament. Can they do the unthinkable and advance to the championship game? This will be a tall task for the Bruins to pull off. This is a game the Zags will dictate the pace and beat the Bruins to advance. Gonzaga Advances
