Lupe Fiasco Kick Push for Throwback Thursday

Lupe Fiasco Kick Push for Throwback Thursday

Welcome to another Thursday as that mean we are closer to the weekend. My playlist started out with A Tribe Called Quest and their classic Low End Theory joint. The Sound of Revenge from Chamillionaire and the New Jersey Drive Soundtrack followed that. Pusha T’s Wrath of Caine, plus the What the Game’s Been Missing project by Juelz Santana also made the playlist. The classic album of the week was the debut album from Lupe Fiasco called Food and Liquor. Food and Liquor was a highly anticipated album after his classic feature on Kanye’s Touch the Sky. Before that, Lupe dropped some classic material on a few mixtapes also. Food and Liquor was released 15 years ago on September 19th. It was named album of the year by several publications in 2006. My featured Throwback Thursday joint is the first single off the project called Kick Push.

Kick Push showed just how creative Lupe was seeing it’s a love story between two skateboarders. Overall, the album was great, and it had to be to have Jay-Z featured on your debut album. After Jay-Z heard his verse on Touch the Sky, he agreed to help executive produce the album. Food and Liquor is an amazing album as it set the bar high for Lupe. Kick Push, Pressure, Hurt Me Soul, Daydreamin and He Say She Say are my top 5 tracks. Check out the video for Kick Push up above.
