Welcome to Week 4 of the 2021 NFL season as it’s hard to believe we are almost a month in. My record from a week ago was 6-4, which lowered my over mark to 19-12. The winning percentage dipped a little from 61.9 to 61.3%. In the most anticipated game of the week, the Los Angeles Rams took care of the defending champion Buccaneers. Justin Tucker set a new NFL record with a 66-yard field goal as the Ravens beat the Lions as time expired. Aaron Rodgers led the Packers down the field in 37 seconds to beat San Francisco in a thriller. The Dallas Cowboys took control of the NFC East after demolishing the Eagles on Monday Night. The Los Angeles Rams, Denver Broncos, Carolina Panthers, Arizona Cardinals and Las Vegas Raiders remain the only undefeated teams. I’ll be predicting 10 games this week so let’s get started.
We kick things off as always with the Thursday night game. The Jacksonville Jaguars will travel to Cincinnati to face the Bengals seeking their first win. Jacksonville continues to struggle in the first three weeks of the season. Trevor Lawrence continues to struggle, but he’ll eventually turn things around. Trevor Lawrence will battle Joe Burrow in a battle between the last two #1 picks. These two met a couple years ago in the championship game where Burrow and LSU outshined Lawrence and Clemson. Can Jacksonville put together an entire good game and upset the Bengals? Cincinnati finds themselves in a 3-way with Baltimore and Cleveland in the AFC North. Cincinnati is a team on the rise, and they should prevail in this matchup. Cincinnati Win 34-17
We have a battle between two of the top teams in the NFC. The undefeated Carolina Panthers travel to Dallas to face the Cowboys. The Panthers are on of the 5 teams that remain undefeated entering Week 4. Carolina is getting things done with their stout defense and the offense not turning the ball over. Injuries have riddled this team as they will be without All-Pro Christian McCaffrey as he’s dealing with a hamstring injury. After losing a thriller in Week 1, the Cowboys have won their last two games. In the Monday night game against the Eagles, the Cowboys running game seems to have returned. The defense is looking like they have improved, which will make them hard to beat. I’m picking the Cowboys to hand the Panthers their first defeat this weekend. Dallas Win 26-20
We head up north as the Cleveland Browns travel to Minnesota to face the Vikings. The Browns have won their last two games after falling to the Chiefs in the season opener. Last week, the Browns used their aggressive defense to frustrated Justin Fields. This week, they will face a much tougher task with the high-powered offense of the Vikings. The Browns offense should be able to move the ball on the Vikings defense, but how will the defense hold up? The offense of the Vikings went off on Seattle a week ago and they did it without Dalvin Cook. Can Kirk Cousins continue to play at a high level? Can the Browns defensive backs contain the WRs for the Vikings? This is a tough one and I’m picking the Vikings to win. Minnesota Win 27-24
We have a battle between 1-2 teams that’s in the need of a victory. The Kansas City Chiefs will travel to Philadelphia to battle the Eagles. This is the Andy Reid Bowl seeing he coached the Eagles for a long time and the current coach of the Chiefs. Will Reid be available for this game as he was taken to the hospital last week? The Chiefs have dropped their last two games and the defense continues to struggle. Can this Chiefs team get back on board against Philly? Philadelphia’s offense has struggled the last two weeks and them not running the ball on Monday was mind boggling. If the Eagles are going to have a chance in this one, they will need to establish the run and stick to it. I’m picking the Chiefs because they have too many weapons. Kansas City Win 35-24
This is probably the game of the week between the two undefeated teams in the NFC West. The Arizona Cardinals will travel to Los Angeles to face the Rams. The Cardinals have looked great on both sides of the ball to start the season. The offense is explosive, and the defense can get after any offense in the league. Kyler Murray is playing at an MVP level and continues to improve every week behind center. The Rams have looked like the best team in the league. Matthew Stafford is also looking like an early season MVP candidate. The defense of the Rams is one of, if not the best in the league. Aaron Donald controls the line, and the secondary is as good as it gets. This should be a great game and I’m picking the Rams to win. Los Angeles Win 31-21
We head to Mile High Stadium as the Denver Broncos host the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens are coming off a tough win in Detroit to move their record to 2-1. The Broncos have started the season 3-0 and they have flown under the radar in the process. The Ravens barely won in their two victories as they could easily be 0-3 right now. The resiliency of Lamar Jackson against the Chiefs and the record breaker by Justin Tucker have them 2-1. Can the Ravens pull off the upset in Denver? The Denver Broncos have look great in these first three weeks of the season. Teddy Bridgewater is playing amazing and mistake-free football. The weapons around him have stepped up. The defense is looking like old times as they have been smothering opposing offenses. I’m picking the Broncos to win again. Denver Win 23-21
We have two of the more legendary franchises facing off against each other. The Pittsburgh Steelers will travel to Lambeau Field to face the Green Bay Packers. After winning their first game against Buffalo, the Steelers haven’t looked great. Big Ben continues to struggle, and the defense isn’t playing to their expectations. T.J. Watt is still dealing with a groin injury and that’s a big reason for their struggles. After being blown out by the Saints in Week 1, the Packers are looking good again. Green Bay is on a roll and the Steelers continue to look like the worse team in the division. Aaron Jones should have another big game against this Steelers defense. Aaron Rodgers will continue to roll with this offense. Green Bay Win 34-21
We have the Sunday Night game as the great Tom Brady makes his return to New England. The New England Patriots will host the Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. We don’t have to talk about the return of Brady to New England means. The GOAT led the Patriots to 6 championships before signing with Tampa Bay last year. While many thought Brady was finished, he only led the Bucs to a championship. The Patriots have been looking for a franchise quarterback ever since Brady left. New England is hoping they have found that franchise signal caller in rookie Mac Jones. Jones have looked good in the first three games of the season. This will be an emotional return for many, and the game should be good also. I’m picking Brady and the Bucs to leave New England with the win. Tampa Bay Win 31-27
We have the Monday Night game between two AFC West heavyweights. The Las Vegas Raiders return to Los Angeles to face the Chargers. The Raiders are one of five teams that remain undefeated in the league right now. Derek Carr has the offense moving the right direction as he’s one of the more underrated quarterbacks in the league. Can the Raiders return to Los Angeles and leave with the win? The Chargers are coming off a very impressive win against the Chiefs. Justin Herbert continues to look great in his second season as the QB of the Chargers. While Herbert is receiving a lot of attention and praise for their success, the defense continues to look great. This could be one of the better games of the season on Monday night and I’m picking the Chargers to win. Los Angeles Win 24-23
