Sam Sneed U Better Recognize Featuring Dr. Dre

First off, Happy New Year to everyone out there. Hope you had a wonderful beginning to the new year and nothing but continued blessings throughout it. Welcome to Thursday as that mean we are closer to the weekend. My first playlist of the year started off on the R&B tip. Where I Wanna Be from Donnell Jones, 702’s No Doubt and Unpredictable from Jaime Foxx started things off. The new Nas joint, All Eyez on Me from Pac and the latest Busta Rhymes joint made the playlist. There were a couple others, but that was enough to last me throughout the week. Any of those albums would produce a great featured track, but I’m going in another direction. The Street Scholars album from the legendary Sam Sneed is where I’m going. Many of us remember him from Death Row Records and his banger on the Murder Was the Case Soundtrack.

U Better Recognize was the name of the track and it featured Dr. Dre. Sam Sneed was supposed to release an album called Street Scholars on death Row, but it never happened. Sam Sneed eventually released the album 16 years later in 2011. U Better Recognize was featured on the album and it’s my first Throwback Thursday joint for 2022. Sam Sneed is known for his production seeing he has produced for a lot of people over the years. Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Jay-Z, G-Unit, 50 Cent, Tony Yayo and Scarface are a few artists he’s produced for. The Street Scholars album was a really good one and would’ve fit the Death Row sound perfectly. Check out the video for U Better Recognize above.
