After a historic NFL season which saw the league going to 17 games, we are ready for Super Bowl LVI. We had arguably the greatest weekend of Divisional Round games three weeks ago. Two weeks ago, we also saw two amazing games. The Los Angeles Rams will battle the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI. The Rams was one of the favorites from the time they traded for Matthew Stafford to reach this point. We all knew that the Bengals were a team on the rise but didn’t think they’d get here this quick. Los Angeles defeated the Cardinals, Bucs, and 49ers to reach Super Bowl LVI. The Cincinnati Bengals defeated Las Vegas, Tennessee, and Kansas City to advance to Super Bowl LVI. In a battle of former #1 overall picks, who leaves with their first Super Bowl championship?
Cincinnati comes into this game as the underdog, but that doesn’t mean anything to them. The Bengals were underdogs in their games against Tennessee and Kansas City. They also won those games in hostile territory. They went on the road and defeated the #1 seed in Tennessee despite Burrow getting sacked 9 times. In the AFC title game, almost no one picked the Bengals to beat the 3-time AFC champion Chiefs. After being down 21-3, it seemed like Kansas City was headed to their fourth consecutive Super Bowl. In the second half, Cincinnati found their footing and began to chip away at their deficit. The game went into overtime with the Chiefs getting the ball. Patrick Mahomes threw an interception and Cincinnati went down the field to kick a field goal to win the game. Can the Bengals go on the road and win again and bring home their first Super Bowl championship?
As mentioned before, the Rams were one of the favorites to advance to the Super Bowl. They acquired Matthew Stafford in the offseason as they traded Jared Goff for him. During the season, they brought in Odell Beckham Jr. and Von Miller. In the Wild Card round, they dominated the Arizona Cardinals and looked great on all three factors of the game. They dominated the Bucs for most of the game before a historic collapse after leading 27-3. They ended up beating the defending champions on a last-second field goal to push them to the NFC Championship game. Coming into the NFC title game, they had dropped six consecutive games to the 49ers. San Francisco dominated them for most of the game before they woke up to rally and beat San Francisco. Can the Rams win their first Super Bowl as a Los Angeles team?
This will be a matchup between two teams with some great offensive fire power. The offenses and quarterbacks get a lot of love, but both defenses can bring it when they have to. They both have great defensive lines that can get after the quarterback. The secondary of the Rams that’s lead by All-Pro Jalen Ramsey is a little bit better than the Bengals. Cooper Kupp was the top WR in the league, but Ja’Marr Chase is as good as any receiver in the league and he’s a rookie. Both of these teams have great running backs with the Rams having two they can throw at you. This game will be won in the trenches and I’m thinking it’ll be hard for the Bengals line to contain Aaron Donald. This should be a great game, but I’m picking the Rams to win the Super Bowl on their home field. Los Angeles Rams Win Super Bowl LVI 27-24
