7 Helpful Ways to Help with Soreness and Muscle Aches

There is nothing like waking up first thing in the morning and hitting the gym. This has become my routine at least 3 days of the week. Unfortunately, being in my mid-40s my entire body is sore at times. I’ll be honest, the recovery time isn’t as quick as it used to be. Throughout the years, I’ve tried so many things to help ease the pain like having my kids stand on my back. My kids are older and bigger now so that one is out the window. Pain relief can come from home remedies or even some hacks on TikTok. There are a few things I’ve tried over the years that has helped with my nagging injuries and aches. Below are 7 helpful ways to help with soreness and muscle aches.

I’ve heard many people tell me about going to get massages over the years. Despite hearing countless people tell me how great they felt afterwards, this was something that didn’t cross my mind. My wife convinced me about a year ago to try one out after dealing with back issues. It took only that one time to convince me that they were effective. Massages aids in muscle recovery and reduces inflammation. My muscle performance has improved, and my pain reduced thanks to some great massages.

Pain Relief Cream

All pain relief creams are not created equally. Over the years, I’ve tried many brands, and some worked better than others. Nowadays, I’m in need of pain relief for a little bit of everything. Essential oils is great for a lot of uses around the house. Essential oil is great for the body and everyday needs also. Lavender oil is something that’s used around the house for relaxation. It’s also good for sore muscles along with peppermint and rosemary oil. If you have sensitive skin, this could irritate it. You can dilute them with a carrier oil before applying to skin.

Staying Hydrated

Throughout the years I’ve suffered with hamstring issues and mostly was due to not being hydrated. Hydration is key to muscle recovery and repair. Drink a lot of water or anything with electrolytes.

Adding Anti-Inflammatory Foods to Diet

Many people don’t realize that their diet is vital to having muscle aches and pains. Anti-inflammatory foods can also help fight diabetes, kidney and heart diseases. Berries, fatty fish, watermelon and green team are just a few of the items you can add to your diet.

Good Sleep at Night

As I’ve gotten older, getting a good night’s sleep is so vital to everything. Great sleep at night can keep you in a good mood to a healthier heart. When getting between 7 to 9 hours of sleep allows the muscles to repair and grow after exercising. Lack of sleep can lead to your muscles being sorer.
