Daddy’s Hangout Summerslam 2016 PPV Review

Welcome to the Summerslam PPV, which had a total of 13 matches including the ones on the Kickoff Show. With a very successful NXTTakeover the previous night, let’s see how the main roster responds and hopefully continue to ride the wave of great wrestling. Since this is one of the big 4 PPVs, I was expecting a stellar PPV so let’s see how things turned out. The PPV kicked off with Enzo & Big Cass cutting a damn good promo to start everything off when they came down to a huge pop. Enzo quoted several Biggie Smalls line, while sprinkling in some Frank Sinatra and the crowd ate every bit…

    WWE Summerslam 2015 PPV Review

Welcome to the much anticipated Summerslam PPV as they come live from Brooklyn at the Barclays Center. This year the PPV will be 4 hours, which is the first time because they only do it for WrestleMania. With a successful NXTTakeover: Brooklyn the night before, that featured a MOTY candidate with the Sasha Banks and Bayley match, let’s see how things fared with the Summerslam PPV.   After Jon Stewart opened the PPV to get the crowd hyped up, he introduced Mick Foley and they had a little fun before the opening match, which was Randy Orton against Sheamus. They have faced each other countless times over the years and…

Daddy’s Hangout WWE Summerslam 2014 PPV Review

It’s that time of year where fall is around the corner, my kids are back in school and the biggest party of the summer is happening in the WWE and that’s Summerslam!!! This year I was really impressed with the card and the potential of the PPV because all the matches on the card were some matches I was looking forward to. Without talking about every single match, let’s just get into the review!!!   Here we go with the opening match of the night for the IC championship which has been a pretty good build for the past month or so. The match was a really good opening match…

Daddy’s Hangout Presents 2013 SummerSlam PPV Review

Welcome to the biggest party of the summer and its Summer Slam. This is a PPV that I was really looking forward to because of the 2 main events. The build between Brock Lesnar and C.M. Punk has been phenomenal and Paul Heyman has been golden. Then, of course, the main event for the WWE Championship between John Cena and Daniel Bryan. Bryan has arguably been the hottest wrestler in the world for the past few months and is over more than any WWE star. Also at the PPV we saw the debut of Bray Wyatt, which I was also looking forward to. I was definitely hoping to see Ziggler…

    Daddy’s Hangout NXTTakeover: XXX Review

The WWE had the wrestling world buzzing for the weekend. On Friday night, they debuted their Thunderdome concept on SmackDown Live. The Thunderdome concept was a big hit for me and it was highlighted by Jeff Hardy capturing his 5th Intercontinental Championship. Tonight, the WWE has a stacked card for the 2020 edition of Summerslam. Last night was the 30th edition of NXTTakeover and it was highlighted by Keith Lee defending the NXT championship against Karrion Kross. NXTTakeover: XXX had stacked card itself, but with no crowd my expectations weren’t too high. Io Shairi defended the NXT Women’s Championship against Dakota Kai. In a ladder match, Damian Priest, Cameron Grimes,…

The Horror Show at Extreme Rules PPV Review

Welcome to the Horror Show at Extreme Rules PPV. If you’re a wrestling fan, this is a great weekend for us all. Unfortunately, I’m not spending $50 for a PPV despite hearing great things about Slammiversary. We had Braun Strowman defending the Universal Championship against Bray Wyatt in a Swamp match. Drew McIntyre put up his WWE Championship against Dolph Ziggler. Bayley defended her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Nikki Cross. On Raw, Asuka put her Women’s title against Sasha Banks. The New Day defended their SmackDown tag titles against Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura. Apollo Crews was supposed to defend the new and improved United States title against MVP. It was…

WWE Goes For Goldberg In Saudi Again – But Why?

No matter who they’ve put on the card for their Saudi Arabia shows, WWE has struggled to generate excitement among wrestling fans outside the Arab state about them in the past. That’s largely because they’ve built up a lot of ill will with their fan base by giving the Saudi audience dream matches of the kind that have never been staged on American or European soil, and the general public has accused the company of accepting blood money to go there and appear in paid-for shows. They were put on blast by the world’s media for going ahead with their planned ‘Crown Jewel’ show in 2018 in the immediate…

The WWE held their Extreme Rules PPV this past Sunday. The WWE will likely go in a new direction after the Extreme Rules PPV. Paul Heyman will head creative on Raw and Eric Bischoff is the new head man of SmackDown. With SummerSlam around the corner, this should get interesting in time for the biggest party of the summer. Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch defended their championships against Baron Corbin & Lacey Evans. Kofi Kingston put up the WWE Championship against Samoa Joe. Ricochet defended his United States Championship against A.J. Styles. In a triple threat match, Daniel Bryan & Rowan defended the SmackDown tag titles against New Day &…

With so much going on in the world of wrestling I almost forgot we had a PPV. We started things off with Austin Aries being released, A.J. Styles winning the U.S. title at the Garden and Dixie Carter appearing on the WWE Network. WWE rolled out the first-ever Great Balls of Fire PPV, which was headlined by Brock Lesnar defending his title against Samoa Joe. For me, this is one of my dream matches as they seem like they would match-up well against each other. Cesaro & Sheamus also defended the tag titles against the Hardy Boyz in a 30-minute Ironman Match. Alexa Bliss defended her Women’s title against former…

With so much going on in Brooklyn this weekend from Goldberg being there, with him and Brock calling each other out and of course, Summerslam is tomorrow. As much as I’m looking forward to the Summerslam PPV, NXTTakeover: Brooklyn II was something I was excited about also. The NXTTakeover specials have been instant classic and this one should be no different. Let’s see how things turned out!! This feud started when Aries attacked No Way Jose after they were having fun and dancing all around. Aries nailed him with the forearm knocking him off the announce table and proceeded to beat him down. I’ll be honest, No Way Jose haven’t…

Watch These Great Sporting Events taking Place This Weekend

The weekend has finally arrived, and it couldn’t get here any sooner than it did. This week has been a hectic week with the kids finishing their second week of school, a lot going on at my work with me currently looking elsewhere for employment, been a pretty busy week in the blogging world and recently, my wife and I celebrated us being together for 19 years. Since I’m a huge sports fan and work the night-shift, I never get to watch sports like I want to and have to wait until the weekends to catch what little I can or just some highlights. Welcome to another edition of Smackdown Live with it taking place in Bakersfield, CA. With Summerslam less than two weeks away, we’re hoping to continue storylines to build towards the PPV. Last week, Smackdown Live was really good so hopefully things continue to move in the right direction. Let’s see how things turned out!! Good Opening Segment: Smackdown Live started with a promo from Bray Wyatt as he was accompanied by Erick Rowan. Bray talked about being the victim and having his opportunity taking away from him, which brought out Dean Ambrose. They cut promos on each other and Bray invites him to the ring, but the music of Dolph…
