    Daddy’s Hangout 2019 Sweet 16 Predictions

My original bracket was busted just like damn near everyone else’s. The first round was atrocious, but the second round a breath of fresh air. The Sweet 16 field is set after an amazing weekend where we almost saw Duke eliminated by UCF. On this bracket, 14 out of the 16 teams were correctly picked. On my ESPN one, all were right except one so I’m proud of that. Coming into the second weekend, there’s only one double-digit seed and that’s Oregon. All of the top-3 seeds in all the regions advance to the Sweet 16 so we’re in for some great basketball. Let’s see how things will pan out…

Daddy’s Hangout 2019 NCAA Tournament Prediction

It’s that time of year again and that’s March Madness of course. Honestly, this is my favorite time of the year because anything can happen, and it usually does. Coming into the tournament, Duke is the overwhelming favorite and deservedly so. Zion Williamson is the phenom that everyone talked about and then some. In the ACC tournament, he became the first freshman since Kevin Durant to average 30 points and 10 boards in a conference tournament. There are quite a few other teams that have a great shot at cutting down the nets in April. Michigan State, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Kentucky and Gonzaga are others that have a shot.…

Villanova Michigan Meet In National Title Game

Now that the Final Four is over, we have finally arrived at the title game. Michigan used a late-game run to outlast the Cinderella Loyola Chicago team in the first game. In the second game, Villanova used a barrage of 3s to get out in front of Kansas early. Michigan comes into the title game as the hottest team in the nation with a 14-game winning streak. Mortiz Wagner put the Wolverines on his back and willed them to beating the Ramblers. Michigan was seen as the 5th best team from the Big 10 Conference, but they’re one game away from claiming the national title. On the other hand, Villanova…

Daddy’s Hangout 2018 Final Four Preview

All I can say is this has been one of the more memorable March Madness tournaments in recent memory. After a Sweet 16 that continued the madness, we have a Final Four that no one predicted. On one side, you have two teams that many picked to play each other. The Villanova Wildcats will battle the Kansas Jayhawks to see who advances to play in the championship game on Monday. The Wildcats and Jayhawks were top seeds in their regions and have been impressive with so many upsets happening. On the other side, we have the Michigan Wolverines taking on the Cinderella, Loyola-Chicago Ramblers. Michigan took out Florida State and…

Daddy’s Hangout College Basketball Sweet 16 Preview

I’m sure the world is still in shock as we finally saw a top seed lose to a 16th seed. The UMBC Retrievers beat the #1 overall seed in the Virginia Cavaliers by 20 points. Therefore, I say that March Madness is the best sporting event in all of sports. Whether it’s buzzer beaters or watching an underdog making a Cinderella run is something that makes it amazing. For some crazy reason I didn’t post anything about the NCAA Tournament, but I managed to make three brackets. They have been a disaster, but with Sweet 16 coming up this weekend, let’s see how things will fare. Coming into this Sweet…

Mark Fox Fired After 9 Seasons at Georgia

Georgia fired coach Mark Fox on Saturday, sources told ESPN. Intermediaries on behalf of the Bulldogs began reaching out to gauge the interest of potential replacements over the past several days, sources said. Todd Turner and Collegiate Sports Associates are expected to be retained to help with the search. Fox, 49, was hired in 2009 and took the Bulldogs to a pair of NCAA tournaments in nine seasons. Georgia went in 2011 and 2015, but the program failed to go after that. Georgia was 39-29 in 2015-16 and 2016-17, making back-to-back NIT appearances. This season, the Bulldogs are 18-15 and are likely to miss out on the NCAA tournament yet…
