    Daddy’s Hangout NXTTakeover: XXX Review

The WWE had the wrestling world buzzing for the weekend. On Friday night, they debuted their Thunderdome concept on SmackDown Live. The Thunderdome concept was a big hit for me and it was highlighted by Jeff Hardy capturing his 5th Intercontinental Championship. Tonight, the WWE has a stacked card for the 2020 edition of Summerslam. Last night was the 30th edition of NXTTakeover and it was highlighted by Keith Lee defending the NXT championship against Karrion Kross. NXTTakeover: XXX had stacked card itself, but with no crowd my expectations weren’t too high. Io Shairi defended the NXT Women’s Championship against Dakota Kai. In a ladder match, Damian Priest, Cameron Grimes,…

Who Will Become New NXT North American Champion?

NXTTakeover: XXX takes place tomorrow on the WWE Network. One of the more intriguing matches is the ladder match for the North American Championship. Damian Priest, Cameron Grimes, Velveteen Dream, Johnny Gargano and Bronson Reed are the participants. Bronson Reed, Damian Priest and Cameron Grimes won their triple threat match to advance. Velveteen Dream and Johnny Gargano won their second chance matches to be a part of the match. Who will become new NXT North American champion? How did we get to this point? After Keith Lee won the Winner Take All match against Adam Cole at the Great American Bash, he vacated it. All five are worthy of winning…

Daddy’s Hangout Presents NXTTakeover XXV Review

Last night, we had NXTTakeover XXV and we didn’t have a main roster PPV. If you’re a wrestling fan, these last few weeks have been amazing. Two weeks ago, we had Money in the Bank. Last week, All Elite Wrestling has their debut PPV, Double or Nothing. It’s crazy to think it’s been five years since NXT started their Takeover events. In the main event, Johnny Gargano put up his NXT Championship against Adam Cole in a rematch of the last NXTTakeover. Velveteen Dream defended his North American title against the returning Tyler Breeze. The Street Profits, The Undisputed Era, The Forgotten Sons and Oney Larcan & Danny Burch fought…

Daddy’s Hangout 2019 NXTTakeover New York Review

It’s officially WrestleMania weekend! On Friday night, we had the latest installment of Takeover, NXTTakeover New York. Of course, Saturday night we’ll have the 2019 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony. WrestleMania will take place on Sunday. NXTTakeover New York saw a total of five matches and the build for all of them have been terrific. After Tommaso Ciampi underwent neck surgery, he was forced to relinquish his NXT Championship. Instead of the latest encounter between Ciampi and Gargano, we had Adam Cole battling Gargano in a 2-out-of-3 falls match. The Velveteen Dream defended his North American Championship against Matt Riddle. Shayna Baszler put her NXT Women’s Championship on the line…

Daddy’s Hangout NXTTakeover Chicago II Review

After much anticipation, we have finally had the NXTTakeover Chicago II special. Of course, we had Aleister Black defending the title against Lars Sullivan. Shayna Baszler put her NXT Women’s Championship against Nikki Cross. The Undisputed Era battled Oney Larcan & Danny Burch for the NXT Tag Team Titles. In a Chicago Street Fight, Tommaso Ciampi battled his former best friend, Johnny Gargano. In a battle between two future WWE megastars, Ricochet took on Velveteen Dream. These NXT specials are awesome, and you can watch it on the WWE Network. With Money in the Bank taking place tonight, you still have time to peep this one. The first match was…

Daddy’s Hangout 2018 NXTTakeover: New Orleans Review

If you’re a wrestling fan, you know it’s the best time of the year. WrestleMania is among us and it’s one of the more stacked cards I’ve ever seen. When it comes to WrestleMania weekend, we get another NXTTakeover special. For the last few years, NXTTakeover is the highlight of the weekend. With NXTTakeover: New Orleans, this year should be no different. Adam Cole, EC3. Ricochet, Velveteen Dream, Killian Dean and Lars Dawson fought for the new North American title. Andrade “Cien” Almas defended the NXT Championship against Aleister Black. Ember Moon put her NXT Women’s title on the line against Shayna Bazsler again. The Undisputed Era defended their titles…

    Daddy’s Hangout NXTTakeover Philadelphia Review

The WWE has had a pretty special week as they head into the Royal Rumble PPV. Everything started out with the 25th Anniversary special for Monday Night Raw. On Saturday night, we had the NXTTakeover special and this one I was looking for, like all the rest of them. With all the recent, major signings the WWE have made over the last week, could they show up? Riccochet, War Machine and Candice LeRae are all confirmed to have signed with WWE and rumor has it that EC3 is on his way also. Aleister Black and Adam Cole are two of my favorites, which made me look forward to this match.…

Daddy’s Hangout Presents NXTTakeover Orlando Review

After so many successful NXTTakeover specials, we have another one from Orlando. Most of the names have changed, but the quality of performances in NXT remains the same. With rumors of the inevitable main roster debut of Shinsuke Nakamura, will this be his final NXT match? We also have heard rumors about the possible main roster debuts of the Revival and DIY also. We had a total of five matches on the card with 3 of them being for championships. NXT Commissioner William Regal announced that he will be introducing new championship belts. With all that said, let’s see how things turned out on the night before WrestleMania. We started…

Daddy’s Hangout Presents NXTTakeover: San Antonio Review

Welcome to the first NXTTakeover of 2017 with it taking place in San Antonio. Despite having the likes of Finn Balor, Austin Aries, The Revival and Samoa Joe not on the card, NXT will deliver. We have all championships being defended on this special, which is headlined by Shinsuke Nakamura defending the NXT title against Bobby Roode. With so many rumors about some in NXT making it to the main roster, will any defect to Raw or Smackdown in the near future? Also, with Triple H saying he’s not happy with where NXT is at now, will that affect some of those names from jumping? Can this NXTTakeover live up…

    Daddy’s Hangout NXTTakeover: Canada Review

Welcome to another NXTTakeover special as this one took place in Toronto, Canada. I’ll be honest; I was looking forward to this special because of the entire card. We had Samoa Joe trying to regain his NXT title and become the first 2-time champ. On this card, we had the return of Mickie James to the WWE for the first time in over six year. The 2-out-of-3 falls match for the tag team championships was probably the match I was looking forward to the most. Of course, we had one of my favorite wrestlers in the Bobby Roode returning to Canada and the finals of the Dusty Rhodes Classic. With…

Daddy’s Hangout NXTTakeover: Brooklyn II Review

With so much going on in Brooklyn this weekend from Goldberg being there, with him and Brock calling each other out and of course, Summerslam is tomorrow. As much as I’m looking forward to the Summerslam PPV, NXTTakeover: Brooklyn II was something I was excited about also. The NXTTakeover specials have been instant classic and this one should be no different. Let’s see how things turned out!! This feud started when Aries attacked No Way Jose after they were having fun and dancing all around. Aries nailed him with the forearm knocking him off the announce table and proceeded to beat him down. I’ll be honest, No Way Jose haven’t…

    NXT- Takeover: Unstoppable

Welcome to another NXT: Takeover special and this time it’s called Unstoppable. There were several big stories leading to this event and that could have a huge impact on what may happened. We wondered what would happen with the NXT Champ, Kevin Owens since he appeared on Monday Night Raw, attack John Cena and now have a match with him at the Elimination Chamber PPV. We also saw Hideo Itami being taken out and will be out several months with a shoulder injury, which made the triple threat match to determine the #1 contender for the NXT title a singles match now. Let’s see how things played out because…

Daddy’s Hangout Presents NXT Takeover: Rival Review

Once again, we’re back with another NXT special and this one is called NXT: Takeover Rival and I had high expectations for this special but not as high as NXT: Takeover Revolution. Let’s see how this plays out and you can catch it on the WWE Network for only $9.99 and for new users, the month of February is free. Let’s Get Started!!!     Hideo Itami vs. Tyler Breeze   This is the opening match between Hideo Itami facing Tyler Breeze, who attacked Itami in the locker room after Itami lost to Finn Balor in the tournament to crown a new #1 contender for the NXT title. WWE Presents NXTTakeover: REvolution Review

Coming into this PPV I had very high expectations with amazing talent, great builds for the matches and the much anticipated debut of Kevin Owens. Let’s see if this PPV, WWE Network special or whatever you want to call it live up to the lofty expectations.     Kevin Owens vs. CJ Parker       The much anticipated debut of Kevin Owens formerly known as Kevin Steen in the independents. Did you hear the ovation for Owens when he came out? The crowd was definitely into this match as we saw Owens hit a dive from over the top rope and he was busted open in the match…
