2Pac Greatest Hits Dropped 20 Years Ago

The Makaveli album dropped a couple months after 2Pac passed away. The following year, 2Pac’s estate released the R U Still Down? album that was filled with original tracks. Next year, which was 20 years ago they released 2Pac Greatest Hits. The double album featured some of the best music from 2Pac, but they added four previously unreleased songs. Changes would be released about five weeks before the album would drop, and this is the Pac I’ve admired the most. Changes addressed guns, gangs, drugs, police brutality and racism which still takes place during this age. Changes was nominated for Best Rap Solo Performance at the Grammy Awards of 2000…

Rest in Peace 2Pac I Ain’t Mad at Cha for Throwback Thursday

22 years ago today, 2Pac passed away at 4:03 p.m. in Las Vegas due to complications of being shot. If you’ve followed me over the years, then you know that Pac is my idol, favorite artist and the GOAT. For the last seven years on his birthday, I’ve released 2Pac B-Day Mix. With this being the 22nd anniversary of his passing, you know that he’ll be featured as my Throwback Thursday. The featured track is the video for I Ain’t Mad at Cha. Of course, the video depicts him being shot, passing away and joining other legends in heaven. The track appeared on his Diamond selling, classic All Eyez On…

2Pac Snoop Dogg Wanted Dead or Alive

By now, if you’re a fan of hip hop or music in general, you probably heard about 2Pac and Snoop Dogg. Since 2Pac passed, you have heard numerous stories about their relationship. Whether it’s how they became cool, how Snoop “allegedly” told Suge he need to bring 2Pac to Death Row or there falling out. Either way, they are two of the most iconic rappers ever and they put out beautiful music when they collaborated. 2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted comes to mind, but they’ve been on quite a few cuts together. Most of them have been heard throughout various mixtapes, but my Throwback Thursday track is probably my favorite.…

    Daddy’s Hangout Presents 2Pac B-Day Mix Volume 7

It’s hard to believe that 2Pac would be turning 47-years-old today if he were alive. It’s even crazier that he’s been gone almost 22 years now. Despite being gone for that long, he still is very influential in today’s hip hop culture. Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole are my two favorite artists of today and they’ve always called themselves Makaveli Trained Soldiers. Kanye West has continued to praise 2Pac any chance he gets and talk about how much Pac spoke his mind. For the past six years, I’ve celebrated 2Pac’s birthday by putting together a B-Day Mix. The compilations consist of his greatest hits, remixes or tracks that may have…

Keep Ya Head Up for Throwback Thursday by 2Pac

Last month, we all celebrated the 25th anniversary of 2Pac releasing his second album. Brenda’s Got A Baby caught people’s attention from his first album, 2Pacalypse Now. After that album, Pac was on top of the world as he was gearing up for his movie, Juice. If that wasn’t enough, Pac cemented his legacy even more by releasing my Throwback Thursday track. Keep Ya Head Up was a track that my grandmothers loved and that says a lot. This is one of my favorite tracks, not only from Pac, but one of my all-time favorite tracks. Keep Ya Head Up has earned classic marks from many people since it was…

2Pac Released His Second Album 25 Years Ago Today

It’s crazy seeing how time flies by extremely fast. 2Pac released Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z 25 years ago today and man it had its share of controversy. Holler If Ya Hear Me was his first single and it was released almost three weeks before the album dropped. The video depicted a cop getting killed at the end and several politicians wanted his album banned. All they did was give Pac some free promotion as he was mentioned on the TV all the time and by numerous Senators. The reason why he targeted cops was he was beaten by Oakland policemen and afterwards, he shot two off-duty Atlanta cops. Holler If…

2Pac Ready 4 Whatever Featuring Big Syke Produced by Johnny J

For the year 2018, I’ll try my best to do a Throwback Thursday almost every week. About 5 weeks ago, we all celebrated the 20 years anniversary of 2Pac’s R U Still Down? Album. While listening to the album, the first track from disc 2 features Big Syke and Johnny J. What stands out the most from the track is that all three of them are deceased. Of course, Pac died 21 years ago, Johnny J passed away in October of 2008 and Big Syke died last month. The tracks from the album was recorded between 1992-1994 and they’re pretty much how he recorded them. Check out the track below…

    Happy Birthday 2Pac: 2Pac B-Day Mix Vol. 6

Today would have marked the 46th birthday of the late, great 2Pac. Not only we’re celebrating his birthday, but his biopic, All Eyez On Me is released nationwide today. If you follow me on Twitter, Instagram or just know me personally then you know he’s my favorite of all-time. It’s hard to believe that he’s been gone for almost 21 years and still as influential to the hip hop community. Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole, my two favorite current artists are heavily influenced by Pac. For the 6th year, I’ll be putting together a 2Pac B-Day Mix and this is Volume 6. Last year, I was thinking this would be…

    Happy Birthday 2Pac: 2Pac B-Day Mix Vol. 5

June the 16th, 1971 mama gave birth to hell raising, heavenly son. Today would have been the 45th birthday of the late, great Tupac Shakur, whom I’ve always said he’s my favorite artists of all-time. You know it’s pretty crazy to think he’s been gone almost 20 years, but with artists like Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole, his legacy still carries on. For the past few years I’ve put together birthday tributes and this will be the 5th year of me doing this. When you get time, go back and download 2Pac B-Day Mix Volume 1, Volume 2, Volume 3, and Volume 4 and give me some feedback on them.…

2Pac- Baby Don’t Cry(Keep Ya Head Up II)

It’s hard to believe that yesterday marked 19 years that the late, great 2Pac passed away. I don’t know if it’s hard to believe because of me idolizing him or because even though he’s been gone that long, he’s still talked about all the time. Since I visit several hip hop forums, there’s always 2Pac threads or people are quick to bring him into their conversations and alot of it is hatred, which I don’t understand. On September 13, 1996 I’ll never forget that day because I was at a high school football game when it was announced he passed on the PA system and people were crying and going…

2Pac Birthday Mix IV- Happy Birthday 2Pac

Today would mark the 44th birthday of the late, great 2Pac. could you imagine how 2Pac would be if he lived to be 44 years old? If you don’t know his story by now, he was tragically gunned down in Las Vegas on September 7th after the Mike Tyson fight and died 6 days later on September 13th. It’s hard to believe it has almost been 19 years since he’s passed because his influence is very much still relevant in the rap game with the younger generation with guys like Kendrick Lamar and J.Cole calling themselves Makaveli trained soldiers and both calling 2Pac their biggest influence. This is the 4th…

2Pac Passed Away 18 Years Ago Today

September 13, 1996 is not a date that I will never forget nor will a lot of people, who has that date etched in their heads. That was the day that 2Pac finally left this Earth after battling for his life since September 7th when he was shot riding with Suge Knight in Las Vegas. I’m not going to write everything I’ve written before but just know that 2Pac is the most influential person ever in my life besides my parents. Little known fact is that I was on my way to be a rapper because I always wanted to do a track with him but I ended those dreams…

2Pac Birthday Mix III: Happy Birthday 2Pac

Today would mark the 43th birthday of the late, great Tupac Shakur aka Makaveli. Man this is hard to believe that it’s been almost 18 years since he died and it seems like yesterday when I was following his every move and he meant the world to me. This is the 3rd year I’m doing the Birthday Mix and if you would like to download those other 2 compilations you can download Volume 1 and Volume 2. There’s nothing I can really say that I haven’t said before on Volume 1 or 2 that I can say now but Happy Birthday Pac and Rest In Peace. You’re still my favorite…

The track is called Unconditional Love and the album went on to sale over 10 million albums. Rest In Peace 2Pac- Gone But Never Forgotten

Today marks the 17th anniversary of his passing and it happened on a Friday the 13th also and I remember it like it was yesterday. First, he was shot on September 7th after the Mike Tyson fight in Las Vegas and I remember watching MTV all the time getting updates on his conditions, yeah I know  that sucks there wasn’t the internet to give you constant updates. But for the first few days they didn’t know if he’d make it or not and then they reported that he was expected to make a full recovery and that he’s going to survive yet another shooting. Yes, to all people that doesn’t…
