2Pac Me Against the World Dropped 25 Years Ago

25 years ago today, Tupac Shakur dropped his classic Me Against the World album while he was incarcerated. It was his 3rd solo album after 2 really good albums 2Pacalypse Now and Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z, there was a tremendous buzz for this upcoming project when he dropped Dear Mama. With all the drama Pac was going through so much drama during this time from court cases and crazy allegations and he was only 23 years old. I remember the day this album dropped during my junior year of high school and all my friends meeting together to head to the mall to pick up this album. We rode around…

2Pac Loyal to the Game Released 15 Years Ago Today

I’ve stated many times over the years that 2Pac is my all-time favorite artists not just rapper. 15 years ago, 2Pac released his ninth album and the fifth that was dropped posthumously. For this project, Eminem wrote a letter to Afeni to let her know how influential Pac was to him. In the letter, Eminem stated that he’d be honored to produce the entire album and she obliged. The first single from the project featured Nate Dogg and it was called Thugs Get Lonely Too. The original track was recorded during the Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z and Thug Life era. The single dropped a few days after the 8th anniversary…

Makaveli Hail Mary for Throwback Thursday Featuring the Outlawz

Makaveli 2 and 3 were on my playlist for this past week. If you’re old enough to remember, those Makaveli tapes were in high demand.  After Pac passed away, a lot of his unreleased music was leaked as part of the Makaveli series. As we all know, the official Makaveli album dropped a couple months after he passed away. My Throwback Thursday track is from the album, Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory. The album had several gems on it, but the featured track is none other than Hail Mary. Hail Mary is a spooky and dark track, plus it was accompanied with a video. The video depicted Pac rising…

Thug Life Volume 1 Released 25 Years Ago Today

2Pac released his Strictly 4 My Niggaz album in February of 1993. Two years later, 2Pac would release his classic Me Against the World album. In between those albums, Pac got his group Thug Life and they dropped their Volume 1 album. Before the Outlaw Immortals, Pac formed Thug Life and he had major plans for the group before going to jail. The first single appeared on the classic Above the Rim Soundtrack, which was Pour Out A Little Liquor. It appeared as Thug Life, but it was a solo track from 2Pac. In the video, Thug Life made an appearance. Pour Out a Little Liquor was a dope track…
