Lost Boyz Legal Drug Money Dropped 25 Years Ago Today

The 90s had so much talent that there were a lot of groups or artists that got overlooked. One of those groups was the Lost Boyz. The Lost Boyz consisted of Mr. Cheeks, Freaky Tah, DJ Spigg Nice and Pretty Lou. They released their debut album 25 years ago today. Legal Drug Money was the name and it debuted #1 in the hip hop/R&B category. Legal Drug Money eventually went gold off the strength of an unprecedented five singles. Too Short Gettin’ It Released 25 Years Ago Today

Too Short is one of the most accomplished rappers to ever touch the mic. Too Short put out Don’t Stop Rappin’, this was his first album back in 1983. Almost 40 years later, he’s still putting out music which is crazy. A few months back, Too Short was a part of the popular Verzuz battle with E-40. Short Dog released a bundle project with E-40 to coincide with their Verzuz matchup. 25 years ago today, Too Short released Getting’ It (Album Number Ten) and it was his 10th solo project. Getting’ It was actually one of my favorite Too Short albums. The title track, Gettin’ It has been a featured…

Mobb Deep Blood Money Released 15 Years Ago Today

First things first, rest in peace to Prodigy of Mobb Deep. Unfortunately, the Mobb Deep spitter passed away almost four years ago. The duo beefed with some of the biggest stars to ever to the mic in hip hop. 2Pac, Nas and Jay-Z are three of those stars they beefed with throughout the years. After their 6th album, they became free agents and signed with 50 Cent and G-Unit Records. During this time, you knew that Mobb Deep would drop some heat. Mobb Deep had already established themselves as one of the best duos ever in hip hop. G-Unit had classic platinum albums in The Documentary, Hunger for More and…

The Resurrection from the Geto Boys Turns 25 Years Old

The Geto Boys is one of the illest groups to ever pick up a mic. They first hit the scene back in the late-80s and earned their first platinum plaque in 1991. We Can’t Be Stopped was the album and many have ranked it as one of the greatest hip hop albums ever. We Can’t Be Stopped is also known for the album cover as they exit the hospital. This is where Bushwick Bill shot himself in the eye. Speaking of Bill, rest in peace to him seeing he passed away in June of 2019. Two years later, the Geto Boys released their classic, Til Death Do Us Part. The…

T.I. King Album Dropped 15 Years Ago Today

It’s hard to believe that it’s going on 20 years since T.I. dropped I’m Serious. T.I. is still putting out music as he released 11th solo album, The Libra last year. The Libra was a dope project and proved why he’s a legend and one of the best to ever do it. 15 years ago today, T.I. released King which was his fourth project. King was the follow-up to Urban Legend, which was dope. Of course, Urban Legend came after Trap Muzik, which I think is a flawless album. T.I. was definitely on a run during this time because King cemented his legacy in my opinion. Trap Muzik, Urban Legend…

They released a pair of albums in the 1991 and 1993. Busta got his big break when he appeared on the smash-hit Scenario by Tribe Called Quest. Busta had the charisma and energy that people gravitated to. In 1996, he released his debut album, The Coming. Before that, he appeared on the Flava in Ya Ear Remix which was huge when it was released. The Coming eventually went platinum as his single, Whoo Hah! Got You…
