Jay Z Kanye West Watch The Throne Turns 10 Years Old Today

Jay Z and Kanye West have developed a very intriguing history with each other. As we all know, Jay Z gave Kanye his shot on the track, This Can’t Be Life off the Dynasty album. Kanye brought his magic to the Jay Z’s classic Blueprint album the following year. In 2004, Kanye dropped his debut project The College Dropout which is considered a classic. Jay Z dropped his Blueprint 3 album in 2009 and Kanye released My Beautiful Twisted Dark Fantasy in 2010. The following year they put out the Watch the Throne project. The Watch the Throne album was reviewed after its release and there were only 2 songs…

Touch the Sky Kanye West Featuring Lupe Fiasco

Welcome to another Thursday as that mean we are closer to the weekend. My playlist this week consisted of a little bit of everything as usual. Until the End of Time by 2Pac, The Coming from Busta Rhymes and a mixtape from the Realest started things. Street Wars 8, Maino and Cam’Rom’s debut, Scarface Deeply Rooted and the Dayton Family was also played. The final album I’ll mention with have my featured Throwback Thursday track. Late Registration from Kanye West is the album and Touch the Sky is the joint. Touch the Sky featured a young lyricist at the time by the name of Lupe Fiasco. The following year Lupe…

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy Turns 10 Today

Kanye West is one of the most polarizing figures to ever pick up a mic. We know about his recent struggles with depression and even made a bid to run for President. Kanye is one of the better musicians we’ve had ever as his production has always been great. The College Dropout, Late Registration and Graduation are considered classics. Kanye’s first three albums made him a megastar, but 808s & Heartbreak wasn’t for me. Two years later, Kanye released his 5th solo album. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy featured Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Raekwon, Nicki Minaj, Pusha T, John Legend and many others. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy almost went gold…

Twista Overnight Celebrity with Kanye West for Throwback Thursday

Welcome to another Thursday, this means we’re closer to the weekend. My playlist consisted of a mixture of R&B and some hip hop of course. Musiq Soulchild, Jamie Foxx and the debut from Jagged Edge was for the R&B side. For hip hop, Busta Rhymes, the Beautiful Struggle from Talib Kweli, Ice Cube’s debut and Twista. The Adrenaline Rush 2007 album from Twista was on my playlist, but it made me think about some older Twista. We’re going back to the album after his classic, Adrenaline Rush which was the Kamikaze joint. It took Twista almost 7 years to drop the Kamikaze album, but it was well worth the wait.…

Kanye West Late Registration Turns 15 Years Old Today

The Late Registration from Kanye West turns 15-years-old today. Late Registration is the follow-up to his debut album, College Dropout he released a year prior. With College Dropout being such a great album, expectations were high for this one. Late Registration went on to sell over 3 million copies off the strength of 5 singles. Diamonds from Sierra Leone was the first one and it was a dope track. Diamond from Sierra Leone went on to go platinum after its release. The track was so good that Jay-Z jumped on the remix and it also appeared on the album. Diamonds from Sierra Leone won the Grammy Award for Best Rap…

Common Released Be 15 Years Ago

Common is one of the illest rappers to ever pick up a microphone. 15 years ago today, Common dropped his sixth album, Be. Be marked his first album in two and half years as he went in another direction. Common signed with Chicago’s own, Kanye West and his GOOD Music label. One thing about Kanye’s production is that he’ll provide some soulful melodies. By teaming up with Common, this is exactly what we got as fans. Within one year, Common dropped five dope singles off the Be album. The Food, The Corner, Go!, Testify and Faithful were the singles.  Overall, the album was well received and even XXL gave Be…

Kanye West Good Life Featuring T-Pain for Throwback Thursday

Kanye West is one of the most polarizing rappers that’s ever touched the mic. Kanye West recently released his Christian album; Jesus is King which I haven’t checked out. Before that, Kanye was having his Sunday Service all across the country. One of the albums that was played this past week was his Graduation project. Graduation sold almost a million copies the first week of its release. The Graduation album had plenty of gems on the album. There’s probably about two or three tracks that wasn’t for me on the album. Graduation made 3 consecutive albums Kanye released that were great. With so many tracks to choose from I went…

Paper Trail featured Jay-Z, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Ludacris, Rihanna, Usher, John Legend and Justin Timberlake. Paper Trail sold well over 500, 000 copies the first week making it Gold out the gate. Kanye West Heard Em Say for Throwback Thursday

Another week and another Throwback Thursday track on deck. Yesterday I finally broke down and listened to the Ye album by Kanye West. When people told me that it was different, they weren’t lying. Honestly, a couple songs caught my attention which was Yikes and No Mistakes. Overall, this wasn’t for me, but then again, I wouldn’t call myself a Kanye fan. The people that’s huge fan of his have called him a genius and haters have called him a nut. To me, Kanye isn’t a genius and he’s far from a nut, but I admire his ability of speaking his mind. Trust me though, I’ll never agree with his…

Watch the Throne by Jay-Z Kanye West Review

First of all I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not a big fan of either of these artists even though I respect what both have done more so, what Jay-Z has done over the years. I’ve often said that Kanye’s albums have declined in quality since his debut of the College Dropout and hit rock bottom with the 808s & Heartbreaks but the My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album was better but still wasn’t a good album. Now with Jay-Z I loved his Reasonable Doubt debut album along with a couple other albums but I loved the Blueprint and Black albums. Ok with that said let’s get…
