How To Get More Natural Oils In Your Diet

Natural Oils for Diet

Natural oils from vegetables and certain fruits are a great way to supplement your diet to keep your joints, hair, skin, and nails healthy. They are also good for your heart, immune system, and in boosting your metabolism (the better your heart works, the better everything works). Getting those oils into your diet can be a bit difficult, though. Take a look at these tips on how to get more of these good oils that your body needs.

Supplements

You can take them in supplements. Fish oil pills, sunflower oil, and more can all be find in your vitamin aisle. Pick the one you want to incorporate more and pick some up on your next trip to the store. Just be sure to follow the directions on taking them so that you ensure you get the right amount in your diet. If you are unsure about them, consult your doctor for advice.

Cook your food in them

Skip the fake veggie oil spray and butter, and instead use olive oil, sunflower oil, and coconut oil when cooking. These don’t have a strong taste, so your food won’t taste different. You will, however, get the benefit of lower calories and added nutrients. You can cook just about anything in these oils, and even use them as replacements to butter when following a recipe.

Put them in drinks

When you make a smoothie or milk shake, add in a teaspoon of coconut or fish oil to get in your extra oils. You can add coconut oil to your coffee, too, as the oils blend well in hot drinks. If you do add them to cold drinks, be sure to blend well so the oil doesn’t settle at the top. You may also need to shake or stir the drink often if the oil rises.

Try different milks

Almond milk and soy milk contain amounts of the almond and soy oil in them, so you don’t have to add in anymore. Try these as alternatives to cow milk. They’re lower in calories and have extra oils that are good for you. Different brands and types will have different oils and amounts, so be sure to read the labels.

Eat more foods with the oils

Fish, almonds, soy beans, coconuts, sunflower seeds, and peanuts all have these oils. Eating more of these foods can help put your diet, as they are all healthy items, but can also help you get more of the oils into your system.
