Best of Georgia Hip Hop for Mixtape Friday

For my first Mixtape Friday of the year, we had to do something special. Last week, we debuted the new track from Horus Gump and an idea came to me. Georgia has a lot of talent and have had their fair share of influential talent. We can go all the way back to Raheem the Dream, Kilo Ali and Freak Nasty. Outkast took the reins and became arguably the greatest duo ever in hip hop. The Dungeon Family and Goodie Mob became stars and Georgia hip hop was at an all-time high. T.I. and Ludacris took over that produced guys like Jeezy, Gucci, 2 Chainz and many more. With that,…

Daddy’s Hangout Best of Jay Z for Mixtape Friday

With this being the final Friday of the year and decade, we have one more Mixtape Friday. With Jay-Z having his albums on Spotify now, why not do a Jay-Z playlist? The playlist will be his best tracks from his solo albums and the Watch the Throne collabo with Kanye. Jay-Z is definitely in my top-15 rappers of all-time and one of the greatest to ever do it. Everything from Reasonable Doubt to his 4:44 album was included in this selection. There’s a total of 101 tracks and I’m sure some will think a few tracks were left off, but this is personal. Check out the track listing below and…

Best of Joe Budden for Mixtape Friday

Joe Budden is one of my favorite rappers every. It’s crazy that a lot of people didn’t know much about him until that Top 50 List appeared a few months back. The ones that knew about him referred to him as the guy that used to sing Pump It Up. Joe Budden’s legendary Mood Muzik mixtapes is what made me a huge fan of his. For me, all four were classics and his albums are alright at best. For his Mixtape Friday, hopefully I’ll convince a lot of people to see why I’m a huge Joe Budden fan. Joe Budden has released 8 albums, 6 mixtapes, a part of the…

Last week, we highlighted J. Cole as he’s one of two favorite artists of this generation. This week, we’re highlighting the other one and it’s none other than Kendrick Lamar. Kendrick Lamar has released four studio albums and the Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City being his breakout project. Kendrick has also released a countless number of mixtapes, collaborations and features over the years. Kendrick hasn’t released a new album in over two and half years. Damn was the last album he dropped, and it went triple platinum. Either way, he has enough material to hold us over until he decides to release some new music. Very Best of Rick Ross for Mixtape Friday

Rick Ross have just released his 9th album, Port of Miami 2. With Rick Ross, you either love him or you hate him. Seeing that I’ve been known to venture on various hip hop sites, that’s pretty much how people view him. The ones that like him will point out how he’s putting out good albums consistently, plus his ear for beats. The ones that don’t hold him in high regard is usually because he lied about being a correction officer. For me, none of that matters and I’m always looking forward to his latest music. For my Mixtape Friday, we’re putting out the Very Best of Rick Ross. If…

Best of Suave House Records for Mixtape Friday

Friday is finally here and that means it’s time for another Mixtape Friday. Last week’s Very Best of Jadakiss was well-received and this time we have another gem. One of my favorite record labels growing was Suave House Records. Many people remember Suave House Records being the home of 8Ball & MJG. 8Ball & MJG are one of my favorite duos ever in hip hop. Suave House Records was also the home of Tela, South Circle and Mr. Mike. In addition to the four albums from 8Ball & MJG, Tela released his classic Piece of Mind album. South Circle dropped one album called Anotha Day, Anotha Dolla. Mr. Mike is…

Best of 1994 Hip Hop for Mixtape Friday

1994 was a special year if you’re a fan of hip hop. We all can agree that 1988 was the original Golden Era of Hip Hop. 1994 saw all-time great albums like Illmatic, Ready to Die, The Diary and Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik drop. While Nas, Biggie, Scarface and Outkast released classics others like GangStarr, O.C., Redman, Warren G and Method Man dropped dope projects. The mid-90s starting with 1993 to around 1997 is considered the second Golden Era of Hip Hop. With my new Mixtape Friday format, this is a compilation that I put together in honor of 1994 Hip Hop. There’s close to one hundred songs and it’s divided into four…

The debut album from T.I., I’m Serious was the next album. Fly Shit from Playa Fly came up next. The final album of the week believe it or not was Lil Bow Wow.
