2014 WWE Survivor Series Poster

Welcome to the 28th annual Survivor Series that took place in St. Louis, MO. There was an incredible buzz heading into the PPV with rumors of guys returning, a major debut and a possible heel turn. The big match heading into the PPV was Team Cena vs. Team Authority for control of the WWE. Let’s see how things turned out and see if the PPV lived up to its potential.

Opening Segment

When I saw it was a segment to start the PPV I was like, man this feels like Raw. Vince started out by calling out Stephanie and Triple H that was followed by Vince calling out John Cena. Vince talk about it’s on Cena if he gets all the guys on his team fired. While Vince start messing with the Authority and Stephanie starts to suck up to him and he says that he drew up a contract that only John Cena could bring Steph & Triple H back if they get fired. Really good segment to start the PPV!!!!

Rating: 4/5

This match started out pretty slow and it eventually picked up with the crowd chanting they wanted Mizdow. During the match Miz was playing to the crowd as they were cheering for Sandow but he wouldn’t tag him in. Towards the end, all the teams kicked it in high gear and it turned out to be a great match and in the end one of the Usos hit a splash onto one of Los Matadores but Miz threw him out, Sandow tagged himself and made the pin for the win. Winners and New Tag Champions: The Miz & Damien Mizdow

Rating: 3/5

Dvias Survivor Series Elimination Match

When I saw this match I thought that this would be a catastrophe and wish they would’ve let some of the NXT guys have a match at the PPV. As far as the match there was some good action at times especially from Natalya, Alicia Foxx, Paige, Emma and Naomi. In the end, all the good girls (Natalya, Emma, Naomi & Alicia Foxx) all survived to win the match. Winners: Natalya, Emma, Naomi & Alicia Foxx

Match Rating: 2/5

Survivor Series Dean Ambrose vs. Bray Wyatt

This was one of the matches I was looking for even though I believe the build could have been better. They start out pretty slow and eventually started to beat the hell out of each other and it was turning out to be a pretty good match. That’s when Bray Wyatt grabbed the mic to talk to Ambrose and brought chairs in the ring but Ambrose hit Wyatt with the chair to get DQ’d. Afterwards Ambrose continued to beat on Wyatt, bringing in tables then eventually set Wyatt on one then hit him with an elbow off the top rope. Later that night they announced they would meet in a TLC match at the TLC PPV. Winner by DQ: Bray Wyatt

Rating: 3/5

Adam Rose & the Bunny vs. Titus O’Neil

I’m not even rating this crap because this shouldn’t be on the PPV. Winners: Adam Rose & The Bunny

Rating: DUD

Survivor Sereis AJ vs. Nikki Bella

It was over before it really started when Brie kissed AJ then Nikki attacked AJ, hit the torcher rack slam and that was it. Winner and New Divas Champion: Nikki Bella

Rating: Squash- I’m actually happy to see Nikki win the title because she’s worked her ass off.

Survivor Series Team Cena vs. Team AuthorityFirst of all this had a big match feel to it when all the guys were in the ring before the start of the match. The first elimination came quick when Triple H was pumping up Mark Henry then he ran into the big right hand of the Big Show for the 3 count. They went at it for a while until Ryback was going for the Shell Shocked on Rusev until Kane hit him with a big boot which caused a brawl. During the brawl, Seth Rollins hit the curb stomp on Ryback followed by a super kick from Rusev for the pin on Ryback. There were a lot more actions that lasted for a while until Rusev was beating the hell out of Ziggler then he threw him on the outside and set him up on the announce table and went for a splash but Dolph moved which lead to Rusev being counted out. More fighting ensued then we finally got to see Harper and Rowan fight each other until Kane came in and tried to chokeslam Rowan but it was blocked until Rollins hit Rowan then Harper hit a huge clothesline on Rowan then pinned him. That left Big Show and John Cena in the ring against Harper, Kane and Rollins then Show turned to KO Cena, and then he went to shake the hand of Triple H and walk off as Cena got pinned leaving only Ziggler left. Kane goes outside and started beating the hell out of Dolph and ramming him into the barricade before throwing him back in the ring to cover him to get a 2 count. Dolph hit a crossbody on Kane, and then hit a superkick and Zig Zag to eliminate Kane. Luke Harper entered the ring then hit the big boot, superkick and powerbomb for a 2 count. Out of nowhere Ziggler rolled him up for the pin!! This lead to Ziggler & Rollins being the last 2 and they went at it for a while and had a few nearfalls until Dolph hit the Zig Zag but Triple H pulled out the referee to beat him up while Mercury & Noble started beating on Dolph. Dolph fought them off then Rollins hit a powerbomb on Dolph, missed the curb stomp & Dolph hit another Zig Zag then another referee ran down to make the count but Triple H pulled him out and beat him up also. Triple H started to beat the hell out of Dolph then eventually hitting the Pedigree and putting Seth Rollins on top of Ziggler then another referee ran down and started to count before a montage started to play and it’s STING!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sting came down and hit the referee, then he and Triple H have a staredown for a while then Triple H asked him what he’s doing here before trying to hit him, Sting ducked and kicked Triple H and then hit the Scorpion Death Drop and then put Dolph on top of Rollins for the 3 count and the Authority is finished!!! Winner & Lone Survivor: Dolph Ziggler

Match Rating: 4/5- Great match and with the Sting debut I bumped it up more, he’s my all-time favorite and I marked out.

Overall Rating: 6/10- This was about just an average at best PPV until Sting came out because there really wasn’t anything eventful until he came out. Is this the seeds planted for an eventual match between Triple H/Sting? We will have to see how things go from here and what direction they go with everyone coming out of this PPV; I mean we already know that Wyatt & Ambrose will fight in a TLC match at the TLC PPV.

What did you think about the PPV? What were your highlights and lowlights of this PPV? What did you think about the debut of STING?
