Monday Night Raw Review from Greenville December 2014

Monday Night Raw Logo

Welcome to another edition of Monday Night Raw as this week they were in Greenville, S.C. Last week was a huge improvement from the previous weeks and this is the last Raw before the TLC PPV. Let’s see how things play out as we head to the PPV!!!

Good

Opening Segment: This wasn’t one of those opening segments where they talk for 20 minutes, which is a good thing. Jerry Lawler brought out Seth Green to be the host on the Slammy Awards and he put over Damien Mizdow in front of the Miz. They announced the “This Is Awesome” Moment of the year and it featured some great moments from the Occupy Raw, Stephanie going to jail, seeing the Authority gone at the Survivor Series when Sting debuted and the great WM moment when Hogan, Austin & the Rock was in the ring for the opening of WM.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Seth Rollins: Pretty good opening match as expected from these 2 and I wouldn’t mind seeing these guys meet in the future for the world championship on a PPV. It didn’t bother me that the security guys helped Rollins with the win cause it don’t make Ziggler look bad.

Bray Wyatt/Dean Ambrose: If the WWE would let them do their thing I believe they could steal the show seeing how crazy they are.

Slammy Awards: There were a lot of good moments that was relieved from the past year.

Rusev/Swagger: I must admit that they have created interest in this feud again. Could Swagger become the new U.S. champion?

The Miz, Damien Mizdow & Kane vs. Ryback & The Usos: This was a pretty good math, but Damien Sandow is so over and funny it’s crazy.

John Cena vs. Big Show: Not for the match but for the chaos after Big Show got DQ’d. Seth Rollins, John Cena, Big Show, Erick Rowan, Luke Harper and Dolph Ziggler all got involved with the heels getting the best of the faces.

Bad

Kofi Kingston vs. Stardust: They’ve met several times and they can go but they didn’t have enough time.

Natalya vs. Charlotte: This was a good match but I don’t understand the logic of having her lose and it seems like they would’ve had vignettes to build her debut. If you haven’t seen Charlotte in NXT then you’re missing out on a great talent.

Slammy Awards: On the flip side of having some good moments relived, we also saw that the WWE doesn’t really take these serious and I don’t believe these are legit also.

Ugly

AJ Lee vs. Summer Rae: Summer Rae is just awful in the ring.

Overall Rating: 5/10- Raw lately just seem to lack something that I can’t put my finger on and this edition was no different. I must say that I’m looking forward to the TLC PPV especially the Wyatt/Ambrose, Harper/Ziggler and Cena/Rollins matches. The best on Raw was definitely the Rollins/Ziggler match and the debut and loss by Charlotte, Ric Flair’s daughter in South Carolina was definitely a head scratcher. The Slammy Awards had some good moments like seeing some of the great moments from the past year and seeing guys like Ricky Steamboat and RVD. How about Ambrose throwing the chair in the ring and hitting Bray Wyatt in the head with it when he was lying on the mat?

Top 5 Moments on Raw:
1) Seth Rollins with a huge night
2) Slammy Awards
3) Final Build for the TLC PPV
4) Ambrose/Wyatt Build for match
5) Charlotte Debut on Raw
