Pollo Tropical Launches October Fundraiser for Kids Water Safety

Pollo Tropical

Pollo Tropical continues its national partnership with the USA Swimming Foundation in October with its second annual Halloween Treat Book fundraiser in support of the foundation’s Make a Splash learn-to-swim initiative, promoting lifesaving swimming lessons for children across the nation. Guests can purchase the Treat Books for $1 at all Pollo Tropical restaurants to receive coupons for three free regular fountain drinks and $2 off a Create Your Own Family Meal redeemable throughout November. New for 2016, Treat Books sold in select restaurants will also include a coupon for a free guava bar, no purchase necessary, for any child 12 and under dressed in a costume on Halloween. The books are available Oct. 1-31, while supplies last, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting the USA Swimming Foundation.

“At Pollo Tropical, we believe that every kid should have the opportunity to learn the important life skill of swimming, which is why we support the USA Swimming Foundation’s Make a Splash initiative,” said Pollo Tropical Chief Operating Officer Danny Meisenheimer. “We hope to build on the momentum we started with our Treat Book fundraiser last year and invite our guests to join us in raising even more money to help teach kids in communities across the nation to swim.” In addition to raising money for the foundation through Treat Book sales, Pollo Tropical participates in Make a Splash local partner events throughout the year. The company also provided food at events during the USA Swimming Foundation’s Make a Splash Tour presented by Phillips 66 this past summer.

The USA Swimming Foundation’s Make a Splash program is the nation’s preeminent learn-to-swim initiative, with more than 750 local partners nationwide that provide swimming lessons and educate children and their families on the importance of learning how to swim. Since 2007, more than 4 million children have learned the critical lifesaving skill of swimming from Make a Splash providers.
