Daddy’s Hangout Week 8 College Football Predictions

Daddy's Hangout NCAA Football Predictions logo

Welcome to the 8th week of the college football season as it seems like the playoffs still isn’t taking shape. Last week was a much better for me as I posted a 5-1 record to improve my record to 27-14. My overall winning percentage jumps up from 62.9% to 65.9%. Last weekend we saw how dominate the Tide are, a close call from Clemson and a great game between Ohio State and Wisconsin. This weekend will be highlighted by three games that feature top-25 match-ups. The game of the week will be the 6th ranked Texas A&M Aggies visiting the top ranked Alabama Crimson Tide. This week I’ll be predicting 5 games with the hope of getting closer to that 70% winning percentage. Let’s get started!!

Texas A&M logo CollegeAlabama Logo College FootballAs mentioned above, this is the top game of the week for control of the SEC West. The 6th ranked Texas A&M Aggies will visit the top ranked Alabama Crimson Tide. The Aggies are coming off a bye week, so they should be rested for this huge game in the SEC. Not only could the Aggies take control in the SEC West, but have an inside track to the playoffs if they win out. On the other hand, what can you say about Alabama that hasn’t been said already? They are coming off of thrashing the Tennessee Volunteers on the road last week 49-10. With Alabama, you have to prevent both the offense and defense from scoring. I’m riding with the Tide to win this one!!

Alabama Win 37-24

Arkansas Razorbacks logo College FootballAuburn Logo CollegeWe stay in the SEC with another top-25 match-up featuring teams in the West. The 17th ranked Arkansas Razorbacks visit the 21st ranked Auburn Tigers in a huge match-up between these two physical teams. Arkansas is coming off a tough win at home against the Ole Miss Rebels and they could be a little banged up. This week, can they go on the road and pick up the tough win against Auburn? The Auburn Tigers still have an outside shot in the SEC West as they still have to play against the Tide, but tough road games against Georgia and Ole Miss. This should be another tough game, but I think the Tigers will pull this one out.

Auburn Win 34-31

Once again we stay in the SEC West with another match-up between top-25 teams. The Ole Miss Rebels, whose ranked 23rd visits the 25th ranked LSU Tigers. Ole Miss is coming off a tough road loss last week in Arkansas; still have one of the most potent offenses in college. The big issue for the Rebels is they have issues stopping teams. Can they go on the road in Death Valley to pick up the win? The LSU Tigers have won two games in a row under new coach, Ed Oregeron and without Leonard Fournette. Can the Tigers continue their winning ways against one of the top offenses in the country? I’m going with the Tigers to continue their winning ways.

LSU Win 30-24

Norht Carolina State logoLouisville Cardinal logo NCAA College FootballThis is a battle of ACC teams as the N.C. State Wolfpack visits the 7th ranked Louisville Cardinal. Let’s be honest, the Wolfpack should be ranked and coming off a huge win against Clemson, but the kicker missed a field goal that could’ve won them the game. They will face another high powered offense on the road that have a Heisman contender at QB. The Louisville Cardinal is still hoping to find a way into the playoffs, but they need to take care of business first. Louisville shouldn’t overlook the Wolfpack because they could very well shock them at home. In the end, I believe Lamar Jackson will be too much for the Wolfpack and they should win.

Louisville Win 38-21

University of Miami U logoVirginia Tech logo CollegeWe stay in the ACC for a Thursday night game as the Miami Hurricanes visits the Virginia Tech Hokies. The Hurricanes were ranked a couple of weeks ago, but now have fallen out of the rankings after two losses in a row. Will Mark Richt get his guys back on track for this Thursday night game? Can Brad Kayaa start playing to his potential? Can the defense continue to play well? On the other hand, the Virginia Tech Hokies are still in control of their own destiny to win the Coastal division. It seemed like Virginia Tech was about to make noise after blowing out the Tar Heels. Last week, they lost a tough road game in Syracuse, but I think they rebound against the Hurricanes.

Virginia Tech Win 30-21
