Daddy’s Hangout Week 8 College Football Predictions

Week 8 College Football

Welcome to Week 8 of the college football season as now it’s finally starting to feel like football weather. Last week, my record was 2-1, which makes my record 20-10 as my winning percentage remains 66.7%. Last night saw an incredible comeback by the Memphis Tigers on the road against the Houston Cougars. The rankings have continued to change every week with so many upsets taking place like Syracuse beating Clemson last week. If that wasn’t enough, California blew out then 8th ranked Washington State also. This week I’ll only be predicting 2 games, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we have more upsets take place. I’ll also start making my top-5 rankings at the end of the post too. Let’s Get Started!!

Week 8 College Football Week 8 College FootballWe head to the Big-10 as the 2nd ranked Penn State Nittany Lions hosting the 19th ranked Michigan Wolverines. The Wolverines come into this game as the underdog and with a great amount of doubt over the program. After losing to their rival Michigan State and barely edging out Indiana, the Wolverines are hoping to get back on track. Michigan will try everything in their power to stop Saquon Barkley, but can they? Penn State is starting the tough part of their schedule as they travel to Ohio State and Michigan State in consecutive weeks. Many have Saquon Barkley as their Heisman front-runner and he can pretty much clinch it by having great games in the next three weeks. I’m picking Penn State to win this one in a close one.

Penn State Win 23-21

Week 8 College FootballWeek 8 College FootballThe other game is also a battle between ranked teams as 13th ranked USC Trojans visit the 11th ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish. This is the 89th meeting between these two storied programs and the first time both are ranked since 2009. USC is coming off a nail-biter last week against Utah and Sam Darnold went a game without throwing an interception. Can the Trojans continue their winning ways with hopes of playoff consideration? Notre Dame has flown under the radar as people haven’t talked about them, but they only have 1 loss. They lost by one point against the 3rd ranked Georgia Bulldogs team at home in their second game. For me, this is an elimination game, but you never know with how the season has gone, but I’m riding with the Irish.

Notre Dame Win 28-27
